From humble beginnings in Hollis, Queens, to the world stage of Live Aid, it has been more than 40 years since Run-dmc first changed hip-hop forever. Now Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons, Darryl “Dmc” McDaniels, and Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell are having their story told through a new three-part documentary series Kings From Queens: The Run Dmc Story. It premieres February 1 on Peacock. Titans of music across genres including Ice Cube, LL Cool J, Questlove, Beastie Boys, Ice-t, Chuck D, Tom Morello, Salt, Doug E. Fresh, Big Daddy Kane, Mc Lyte, and Ed Love speak about how the group inspired generations. And how they impacted the cultural landscape of the business with their unique and catchy sound. Some of the biggest triumphs such as taking hip-hop mainstream thanks to “Walk This Way” with Aerosmith are chronicled. With those proud touchtones also comes immense tragedy. Among them at the top was Jay...

At long last a beautifully restored and mastered selection of a number of cartoon king Tex Avery’s brilliant, innovative and (most of all) hilarious MGM shorts comes to Blu-ray via the Warner Archive, with the implied promise of more volumes to come. Some of his greatest cartoons are included, and many of these shorts have likely not looked and sounded so good since their original theatrical release. This is a virtual godsend for the director’s legion of fans, and a worthwhile introduction for those yet unfamiliar with Avery’s uniquely zany oeuvre.

"The Mild, Mild West"
By Lee Pfeiffer
The Warner Archive has released the 1965 comedy "The Rounders" on Blu-ray. The film is primarily notable for the teaming of Glenn Ford and Henry Fonda, two estimable Hollywood stars who could be relied upon to play convincingly in both dark, somber dramas and frolicking comedies. "The Rounders" was directed and written by Burt Kennedy, who adapted a novel from by Max Evans. Kennedy was a veteran of big studio productions who worked his way from screenwriter to director. If he never made any indisputable classics, it can be said that he made a good many films that were top-notch entertainment. Among them: "Support Your Local Sheriff", "The War Wagon", "Hannie Caulder" and "The Train Robbers". While Westerns were Kennedy's specialty, he did have a prestigious achievement with his screenplay for Clint Eastwood's woefully underseen and under-praised 1990 film "White Hunter, Black Heart". The laid-back, plot challenged non-violent western gets a boost in this folksy comedy about two aging cowboys with less sense than the horses they tame. Glenn Ford and Henry Fonda star together for the first time, leaving behind their older images… they’re too tender-hearted for their own good. If the sex comedy wasn’t quite so dated, Burt Kennedy’s picture might be a classic.

Koei Tecmo has outlined some post-launch plans for Team Ninja’s action RPG Nioh today, including providing tentative release dates for new difficulty and player-vs-player modes.
As reported by Siliconera, those who are currently finding William’s adventures in Japan to be a little too easy will have new challenges to confront by way of a higher difficulty level for existing missions as part of a free update in March. Following that, in April, a dedicated PvP feature will arrive, finally enabling players to decide between themselves who has crafted the most powerful character build.
While there’s currently no competitive component available as part of Nioh‘s existing suite of multiplayer options, players are able to invite each other to their respective worlds in order to indulge in a spot of co-op. For all intents and purposes,...

Rockstar’s sandbox behemoth once again takes no.1 in the UK charts this week, almost three years after its original launch on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Continuing to enjoy sales success thanks to its online counterpart, GTA Online, Grand Theft Auto V‘s subsequent ports over to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC have no doubt helped it to shift copies so far along in its lifespan, but what about the rest of this week’s popular titles?
Sadly, GTA V‘s resurgence means Capcom’s Resident Evil 7 didn’t quite manage to make it three weeks on the trot in pole position, which means it falls just short of achieving the same goal that its predecessors Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 5 met, but we imagine the publisher is still pleased with its performance, what with the reboot having received a warm critical and commercial reception.

10 years have gone by since Stephanie Meyer gave us the gift of Twilight, and to celebrate the anniversary the famous author has given Twihards a real treat—a new Twilight novel! But there's a catch. It's not another Bella-Edward love story; instead it's a love story that follows two new lovers, Beau and Edythe. The special edition is completely gender-swapped and now follows Beau Swan's move to Forks where the new character meets Edythe Cullen, who, of course, is still a vampire. The new work is titled Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined. Meyer appeared on Good Morning America Tuesday morning to talk all about her surprise release and explained why she gave fans this...

And so my dearest readers, we come back to the topic of Twilight, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. It is always sad when a franchise comes to an end, for the fans, for its creator and most certainly for the executives that made millions off of it. Now that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 is due out this November will this be the end of Twilight forever?
Lionsgate, which now owns the “Twilight” studio Summit Entertainment, has indicated that they would be happy to do a sixth movie if author Stephenie Meyer wanted to write one. In fact the Lionsgate Co-Chair Rob Friedman has stated through the media that “if she (Meyer) wishes to do it, we’ll be there to support her.” Meyer was annoyed by the comment even though she has never ruled out writing another Twilight. Her irritation is documented on Twitter. The most Meyer has...

On Thursday (April 23) morning, Oprah Winfrey debuted the new trailer for "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" on her TV show and then on her website. After concentrating on the Bella-Jacob-Edward love triangle in the first teaser, this full trailer is more plot-driven, concentrating on the newborn vampire army being raised by Victoria (new addition Bryce Dallas Howard) and its threat to all of our heroes back in Forks. We get vampires rising from the water, Victoria racing through the forest, plenty of clashing werewolves and, of course, at least one shot of Taylor Lautner with his shirt off. We get...

If you're a regular reader of the site, you've probably clicked into this article hoping to hear me tear Twilight a new asshole. If you're a visiting "Twihard," you've most likely come bearing fangs ready to tear out my throat over bashing your sweet Edward love child. So sorry to disappoint you both. See, this article isn't about Twilight per say. It's about the phenomena around it. And not the one you're thinking. Not the whole "how can anyone like something so much" or the "how much can tweens spend on movies" or whatever else. No, this is about the system of "cool" movie sites fighting the Twilight wave and then turning on each other. There are a couple ways sites cover Twilight. Most of them take the "we're reluctantly covering this" route or the "can you believe this shit" pathway. Then there are the uber cool sites and pretentious authors who "refuse to cover that movie...
