We’ve seen her sew knickers, spew out Artron Energy, run a coal mine, solve and commit murders, and now thanks to BBC One thriller Vigil, we’re seeing her gumshoe her way around a nuclear submarine sniffing out a naval conspiracy. There’s very little Suranne Jones can’t do. To celebrate the breadth of her on-screen work, here’s a selection of Jones’ finest performances so far.

Recognizing excellence in Greater Boston theater, The Boston Theater Critics' Association today announced the nominees for the 2010 Elliot Norton Awards. Elevator Repair Service received five nominations for its visiting production of "Gatz" at American Repertory Theater, including Outstanding Director (John Collins,) Design, and Ensemble. Huntington Theatre Company and SpeakEasy Stage Company received 11 and 8 nominations, respectively. As previously announced, actor Karen MacDonald, a founding member of the American Repertory Theatre, is this year's recipient of the Elliot Norton Prize for Sustained Excellence. Michael Maso will also be presented with the Theatre Hero Award for his role as longtime managing director of Huntington Theatre Company and champion of Boston-area theaterThe 28th annual Norton Awards Ceremony will be 7 p.m., Monday, May 17, at the newly renovated Paramount Theatre, in Boston's Theater District.
