Oh, the irony! I’ve been covering Hollywood industry awards as a journalist for 30 years and now I’m nominated for the Press Award bestowed by Hollywood’s leading PR guild: Icg Publicists. It’s so gracious of them – thank you, huzzahs to all – but now I’ll get a toxic dose of what I report on all the time: nominee jitters.
Uh-oh: do my Hollywood industry peers really, really like me? Should I campaign aggressively? Rent out billboards on Sunset Boulevard? What should I wear on Feb. 7 when the winner is revealed at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in the same room where the Golden Globes are doled out?
Lucky for me, I know the drill. I’ve been nominated, and lost, twice in the past. Only 16 more defeats and I’ll be the Susan Lucci of the Publicists’ Award! So, please, save me: spread the word across town — Vote for Tom!

How did Arnold Schwarzenegger manage to hide the fact that he'd sired a child with his housekeeper while holding down perhaps the most high-powered job there is in a state where gossiping about people in power is an industry?
Any Hollywood insider can tell you, there's one person who's done more than anyone else to shield Schwarzenegger from negative publicity. Marty "Mad Dog" Singer is an attorney to the stars, a so-called Hollywood pit bull who's amassed a fortune by going after publications that print -- or even just consider printing -- unflattering things about his clients.
His Century City firm, Lavely & Singer, counts among its roster of past and present clients the likes of Britney Spears, Bruce Willis, Celine Dion, Jim Carey, Sylvester Stallone and Eddie Murphy. This winter, when Charlie Sheen went on a verbal rampage against his bosses at CBS and Warner Brothers, Singer jumped into the fray,...

Sylvester Stallone has put together a massive, action star cast for his movie The Expendables, including Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Steve Austin, Dolph Lundgren,Terry Crews, and Randy Couture. The movie also contains a scene between Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Bruce Willis, which is the first time all three have appeared together in one movie. The Expendables' unit publicist Sheryl Main wrote about they day they shot all three action movie icons on her blog.

Sylvester Stallone has managed to put together quite a cast of action heroes for The Expendables. The list already includes himself, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, and Danny Trejo. They’ve also hinted at a possible “cameo” for Arnold Schwarzenegger depending on his schedule as California governor.
Even with all those names, apparently there’s still one more major casting announcement left. A role by the name of “Church,” or the the man who hires the expendable team of mercenaries.

The cast list on Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables is becoming a ridiculous list of B-list film stars as Brittany Murphy and David Zayas are the latest to join the cast not to mention the casting of mixed martial arts stars Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and his twin brother Antonio Rogerio Nogueira as announced by Moviehole the other day. The film was written, will be directed and stars Stallone along with Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture and follows a team of mercenaries who head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator. There's no word on what roles the Nogueira brothers were offered, but The Hollywood Reporter says Murphy will play Mickey Rourke's girlfriend, a singer. A British High Court judge has ruled California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger can be served with libel proceedings by a TV presenter who alleges he fondled her. Anna Richardson is suing Schwarzenegger, his spokesman Sean Walsh and another aide Sheryl Main, for comments they made dismissing her claims the star touched her breast when she interviewed him five years ago at a press event to promote his movie The Sixth Day. Richardson claims her professional reputation was ruined by remarks Walsh and Main made in a Los Angeles Times article, which also appeared on the internet, in the aftermath of her revelation. She contends the pair said she encouraged Schwarzenegger's alleged behavior. London judge Mr Justice Eady's ruling yesterday that Schwarzenegger can be served with libel proceedings follows a decision made in January at the UK Appeals Court that Walsh can also be served with libel proceedings. The judges at both rulings could find no legal reason why American citizens Walsh and Schwarzenegger cannot be defendants in a British court case.
