First up, this is not non-fiction; there’s a disclaimer on the copyright page: “This book is a work of fiction inspired by actual events.” It does use the real names of all of the people involved, was written or co-written by the main character, and roughly follows the real history as far as I can determine from news stories and the description of David Good’s 2015 prose memoir The Way Around .
But there’s something constructed at the core of the graphic novel Good.: From the Amazon Jungle to Suburbia and Back that led to that disclaimer. I don’t know all of the details. But it’s clear that this is not, at its core, true. And that’s a puzzling thing for a book positioned as a memoir.
David Good is the eldest of three children of American anthropologist Kenneth Good and the Yanomani woman Yarima.

A film that is truly transfixing from its very first frame to the moment its eerie end credits roll, Colin Cairnes and Cameron Cairnes' Late Night with the Devil was one of my favorite screenings at last year's Overlook Film Festival. Taking place during a late-night talk show one fateful (and frightful) Halloween in 1977, Late Night with the Devil features a powerfully poignant performance by the always-great David Dastmalchian, and ahead of the film's theatrical release on March 22nd via IFC Films and its April 19th streaming release on Shudder, we have a look at the movie's chilling trailer and fiery poster that warns you to "not adjust your set."
Synopsis: October 31, 1977. Johnny Carson rival Jack Delroy hosts a syndicated late night talk show ‘Night Owls’ that has long been a trusted companion to insomniacs around the country. A year after the tragic death of Jack’s wife, ratings have plummeted.

If you missed Late Night with the Devil on the festival circuit, you'll be able to see it soon when it comes to theaters on March 22nd, followed by a streaming release on Shudder beginning April 19th, and a new teaser trailer offers a ghoulish glimpse into the film's depiction of a late-night talk show that takes a demonic turn one fateful (and frightful) Halloween in 1977.
