- Emil Mamelok was born on September 12, 1882 in Zurich, Switzerland. He was an actor, known for Leather Stocking: The Deerslayer and Chingachgook (1920), Leather Stocking: The Last of the Mohicans (1920) and Taschendiebe (1921). He died in May 1954 in Lucerne, Switzerland.
- After 1924 he retired from the film business.
- From 1920 he launched a brief but intensive film career and in his first year he took part in movies like "Mord...die Tragödie des Hauses Garrick" (1920) and "Retter aus der Not" (1920).
- His probably most famous movies were "Lederstrumpf, 1. Teil: Der Wildtöter und Chingachgook" (1920) and the sequel "Lederstrumpf, 2. Teil: Der Letzte der Mohikaner" (1920), in which he impersonated the leading role of the deerslayer. Also part of the movie was the than unknown actor Bela Lugosi as Chingachgook. Later he became famous as Dracula.
