Emanuele Giaccherini is forcing through his move to Sunderland, according to Sky Sports.
The Italian winger has been used as a mere squad player for Juventus in the past season and the player wishes to move to the Stadium of Light to help retain his place in the Italy squad ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
The Juventus CEO, Giuseppe Marotta, has said in a recent press conference,
“In Giaccherini’s transfer to Sunderland, the will of the player had priority over the club’s.
“Emanuele evaluated, not only the economic aspects but also the standing he will have at Sunderland, and it was a challenge he decided to accept. We have gone along with his wishes.
The 28-year-old only made 17 appearances for the Serie A champions last season and it has now been confirmed that the player will make the move to Wearside after the Turin club, reluctantly,...

Italian champions Juventus have cooled their summer long interest in signing Arsenal captain Robin Van Persie.
The Serie A club’s director Giuseppe Marotta has told Sky Sport Italia that the 28-year-old Dutch sensation is now unlikely to be heading to Turin because of the Gunners’ excessive demands. Juventus now believe he would not bring value for money as Arsenal could be holding out for north of £20 million for a player who turns 29-years-old in just a few weeks and would be available to sign a free transfer per-contract agreement for next summer as early as January.
“A top player is not only judged by how much he costs,” said Marotta.
“It can also mean a player who costs less but on the pitch shows an absolute value.
“Van Persie is a great player but Arsenal do not intend to lose him. And you cannot indulge in a player if...

Juventus have told Robin van Persie that they want to team him with Liverpool’s Luis Suarez in Serie A next season, in an attempt to lure the Arsenal skipper away from reported interest at Manchester United and Manchester City.
BBC Sports reports that the Italian champions have already got the message out to Van Persie that they want him to lead their frontline next season but they have yet to go back in with a second offer after an initial enquiry was rebuffed by Arsenal.
As we reported yesterday, Sir. Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United made an opening bid for Van Persie that was immediately dismissed by their North London rivals. Roberto Mancini’s Premier League champions Manchester City however, have yet to show their cards with an opening offer.
BBC Sport believes that United’s low-opening bid was around the £10 million mark, some £15 million below Arsenal’s own valuation.

Rome, 24 February
With his latest film, Federico Fellini has started off probably the most violent, widespread, and far-reaching controversy in the Italian cinema's history, a controversy which is now being joined by almost every faction in the country. First reaction to "La Dolce Vita" was passionate. After its noisy Milan premiere a man spat on Fellini "in the name of the fatherland." After the Rome premiere, watched in glacial silence by the cream of Roman society, Fellini was challenged to a duel. Later, a packed debate on the film, presided over by the novelist, Moravia, turned into a fight settled only by the arrival of jeep-loads of armed police.
The cause of the uproar is the film's "exposure" of corruption, debauchery, perversion, and the aimlessness among the high society, the intelligentsia, and the film and press worlds of Rome, a state of affairs...
