- Jerry Masucci was born on October 7, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York, USA. He was a producer and director, known for Salsa (1976), Vigilante (1982) and Celia Cruz and the Fania Allstars in Africa (1974). He died on December 21, 1997 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
- Founder, with Johnny Pacheco, of the legendary Fania Records label (1964-2005). The label became a major force in Latin music during the 1970s and was home to many famous artists, including Celia Cruz and Hector Lavoe.
