The Vampire Diaries is saving a lot of crazy returns for the end of the series.
Just released pictures for The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 15 confirm that Melinda Clarke will be staging a comeback as Matt's horrible mother, Kelly Donovan.
Kelly was last seen on The Vampire Diaries Season 1 when it became apparent she had a thing for younger guys, prompting Matt to tell her to leave Mystic Falls and never look back.
There have been rumblings for quite some time that the character would be returning before the series concludes, but this is the first official confirmation of it.
Considering the way she's holding a microphone in the pictures, it sure seems like she's trying to take on a leadership role.
The episode will center on the gang throwing a fake wedding to lure Cade out of the darkness to take him out of the equation for good.

The holidays (and The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 7) remind me that there are two kinds of people in this world.
People who like eggnog and people who don't.
Damon Salvatore? Doesn't like eggnog, which once again reminded me, in an ever so subtle way, why I joined Team Damon so long ago.

Let's be clear. I'm not on the Team Damon the Soul Stealer and Right Hand Man of Satan team. But I do have renewed hope for the Team Damon the Guy Who Loved the Girl team, of which I am most definitely still a member.
For the past season and a half, I've been annoyed by the constant references to Elena.
They always take me out of the moment making Elena a bigger part of the show than she is while she's in a coma,...

Will having Sybil in custody at the Armory actually accomplish anything on The Vampire Diaries? That seems to be the question for season 8 episode 4, "An Eternity of Misery," but instead, it looks like there's a lot more to the story.
In this episode, Damon's tasked with finding a mysterious artifact, which leads him to Texas and a violent run-in with Peter Maxwell -- as well as a surprising revelation. Meanwhile, Stefan and Alaric team up and uncover the origins of the force they're up against. Plus, Matt returns to the fray when his past and present collide in an unexpected way.

Courtney Love's memoir
The question is not so much "what will be in Courtney Love's book?" as "what could possibly be in Courtney Love's book that she hasn't already spoken/ranted/raved about?" Still, her self-titled autobiography has been described as "too crazy not to be true" and should provide her definitive take on her time with Hole and her doomed relationship with Kurt Cobain. It will also, hopefully, spill previously unspilled beans on her relationships with Billy Corgan and Steve Coogan. Oh, and according to an interview she did with Rolling Stone, it was inspired by Russell Brand's My Booky Wook. The mind boggles. Tj

Versatile musician was equally at home writing jazz and film scores as music for the concert hall
Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, one of Britain's most versatile and talented composers and performers, has died peacefully on Christmas Eve in his adopted home city of New York, aged 76.
Over the course of a distinguished career he has been equally at home writing music for the concert hall and performing cabaret at the Algonquin Hotel; as enthusiastic about Cole Porter as Pierre Boulez. His publisher, Gill Graham of the Music Sales Group, said: "He was, I think, the last of his kind. He wrote 32-bar jazz standards, the most complex serial music, and everything in between."
To a broad audience he is perhaps best known as a prolific writer of scores for film and television, including for Sidney Lumet's Murder on the Orient Express and Four Weddings and a Funeral; his film...

British singer Lily Allen has been crowned the queen of the prestigious Ivor Novello songwriting awards after winning three top prizes at the ceremony on Thursday, May 20. The "Smile" hitmaker was in "floods of tears" after picking up honors for best song musically and lyrically, as well as most performed work, both for her single "The Fear".
She also scooped the coveted songwriter of the year award, considered to be one of the most prestigious record industry honors. Speaking about the chart-topping hit that earned her the accolades, Allen told the ceremony, "This song is so much about feeling so lost. It has made me feel quite found all of a sudden."
The hat-trick of honors is the perfect swan song to Allen's music career, she has already announced plans to retire from recording and touring later this year to concentrate on starting a family and running a designer clothes hire shop.
