- Frances McCann was born in 1922. She was an actress, known for The Creation of the Humanoids (1962) and The Jerry Colonna Show (1951). She died on March 14, 1963 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.
- Was shot to death in the doorway of her room at the Bernini Bristol Hotel in Rome. The culprit, a married German businessman named Ernest Boxman, then turned the gun on himself.
- Four children. Her oldest, Frances, was 18 years old when her mother was murdered and was the first member of the family to hear of her death.
- She was under contract with MGM in the 1940s, but was never assigned a film project. Most of her career was spent on the musical stage with various operetta production units in Hollywood, New York and Washington, DC. She was a frequent guest on Nelson Eddy's radio show.
