parking space until he was granted a meeting.
Built like a solid oak, he later turned actor and found himself well-suited for roles in Sylvester Stallone's boxing films, particularly a more affecting role in Paradise Alley (1978), and other rugged fare.
A star athlete in high school, McRae graduated from Tennessee State with a double major in drama and history. Had a brief career as a defensive tackle in the NFL, playing in 6 games for the Chicago Bears in 1967.
