Following Annie Wersching’s death, celebrities and colleagues of the 45-year-old are sharing their memories on social media. Wersching died of cancer on Sunday, January 29, after being diagnosed in 2020, according to Deadline. She leaves behind a husband and three children — as well as a prolific TV filmography that includes roles on 24, Bosch, Castle, Star Trek: Picard, The Rookie, and General Hospital. “Just found out my dear friend Annie Wersching passed away,” tweeted Neil Druckmann, who co-created the video game The Last of Us, in which Wersching voiced and provided motion capture for Tess. “We just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is shattered. Thoughts are with her loved ones.” Jeffrey Pierce, who voiced Tommy in the game and plays Perry in the HBO adaptation, tweeted, “Damn. Stunned to hear of Annie Wersching’s passing. The real deal. The Og Tess. Heartbreaking for those she left behind.

Chicago – Yes, it is summer on cable: The season of soapy plotlines and unimaginative writing. Unfortunately, TNT’s new summer series “Rizzoli & Isles” falls prey to that. It’s based on the characters of best-selling author Tess Gerritsen, but is co-written and co-executive-produced by Janet Tamaro. And though Tamaro’s résumé includes one episode of “Lost,” it also includes the popular but campy “Bones” and the formulaic CSI franchise, “CSI: NY.”
TV Rating: 2.0/5.0
The problem with the writing in “Rizzoli & Isles” is its laziness. It falls back on several classic narrative formulas, including “The Odd Couple,” “Silence of the Lambs,” and “The Sopranos.”

Chicago – Tess Gerritsen is in that situation that authors sometimes face – seeing her creations come to life in another medium. In this case, her characters Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles are being personified in the new TNT Network drama, “Rizzoli & Isles,” starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.
Gerritsen introduced the homicide investigator Rizzoli and the medical examiner Isles as a team in the 2001 book, “The Surgeon,” and has written eight other books spotlighting the intrepid pair, which have become popular best sellers. Although focusing on other suspense novels and medical thrillers, Gerritsen has nurtured Rizzoli & Isles to be her mainstay, and the TNT Network have created a series featuring the characters.

"She's Out Of My League" asks a question not about how you get the perfect girl, but what wackadoodle lengths you might go to keep her. In his first starring role in a Hollywood film after a string of scene-stealing supporting parts in flicks like "Knocked Up" and "Tropic Thunder," Jay Baruchel stars as Kirk, a Transportation Security Administration lackey who becomes the object of affection of Molly (Alice Eve), a so-called "perfect 10" with a winning personality to match her killer figure.

The red band trailer for “She’s Out of My League,” starring Jay Barushel (Tropic Thunder, Knocked Up) and Alice Eve (Crossing Over) is now online.
In the comedy She’s Out of My League, Kirk (Jay Baruchel), an average Joe, can’t believe his luck. Though he’s stuck in a seemingly dead-end job as an airport security agent, against all odds, Molly (Alice Eve), a successful and outrageously gorgeous babe, falls for him. Kirk is stunned. So are his friends, his family and even his ex-girlfriend. Now he has to figure out how to make the relationship work, even though he’d be the first to admit she’s totally out of his league.

"This is terrible. This is not how I want to start the day," says Juliette Lewis, already shooting off sparks of energy as she apologizes for arriving a few minutes late at a Toronto hotel room for an interview. It's 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 13, and she's at Toronto Film Festival for the world premiere of Drew Barrymore's Whip It (out today), the roller-derby drama in which Lewis plays, in her own words, the "resident badass." Of course, it's hard to blame the actress for sleeping in. She had just jetted in from Europe, where she was promoting her new album,...

Wilson will at long last exorcise the ghost of ex-girlfriend Amber this season on House. According to executive producer Katie Jacobs, Robert Sean Leonard's long-grieving alter ego will sever his final tie to Amber by year's end. "Wilson is still living in Amber's apartment," Jacobs points out. "And we said to ourselves, 'How long can he live in the shadow of that relationship?'" Apparently about a year-and-a-half, since, per Jacobs, "He's actually going to move out of Amber's apartment and into a new place way down the line in episode 8 or 9." Where does this leave House, who beginning next week starts crashing with his Bff? In what will no doubt be a boon to the burgeoning Hilson movement, Jacobs says they'll get a new pad together. Reaction? Happy Wilson is moving on? Even happier House and Wilson are making their living arrangement (presumably) permanent? Sound off below! More...

Chicago – If you’ve ever been speed dating or even just on a series of dates in a short period of time, it’s not that different from the back and forth between good and bad in the latest romantic comedy, “He’s Just Not That Into You,” a mixed bag of cliches, comedy, coincidences, and cute coupling starring Jennifer Aniston, Ginnifer Goodwin, and many, many more.

Blu-Ray Rating: 3.5/5.0 Chicago – The inevitable merging of the Judd Apatow-verse and the View Askew-verse headed by Kevin Smith happened in the underrated and under-seen “Zack and Miri Make a Porno,” new on Blu-Ray this week and joined by a Special Edition release of “Clerks II”.
Smith’s best film since “Chasing Amy” comes home to Blu-Ray this week in a release that gets the job done but will likely leave Smith fans a little disappointed. Oddly enough, The Weinstein Company also released “Clerks II” on Blu-Ray this week in a much more impressive 2-disc special edition, proving that the quality of the movie and the quality of the Blu-Ray aren’t always a perfect match.
