Georgia Holt, the seven times-married mother of Cher who spent time as a model, actress and singer-songwriter, has died, her daughter announced Saturday night on Twitter. She was 96.
“Mom is gone,” Cher wrote.
A rep for the Oscar-winning singer-actress confirmed Holt’s death to The Hollywood Reporter on Sunday morning. No details of Holt’s death were immediately available.
Holt appeared briefly in such films as A Life of Her Own (1950), Grounds for Marriage (1951), Father’s Little Dividend (1951) and Artists and Models (1955) and on TV shows like The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet and, as a “Jacques Marcel” model, on I Love Lucy (in the hilarious 1956 episode “Lucy Gets a Paris Gown”).

Claiming that “systemic racism” is to blame for a lack of “economic parity,” more than three dozen live television musicians have signed an open letter to the TV networks calling for parity with their colleagues – actors, writers and directors – in the area of wages, health care contributions and residuals payments on streaming platforms.
Signers include John Baptiste, the bandleader for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert; Eli Brueggemann, music director for Saturday Night Live; and Paul Mirkovich, musical director for the house band on The Voice.
The letter states that during contract negotiations earlier this month between the broadcast networks and the American Federation of Musicians, “Your companies acknowledged that live television musicians are the only sector of the industry exhibiting substantial racial diversity, but at the bargaining table we are told that our contributions are worth less than those of actors, writers, and directors, even though we give just as much.

Hours after announcing that he was leaving “The Voice,” Adam Levine took to Instagram to explain his decision. “For me, it was time to move on,” confessed the Maroon 5 singer, who’s been with NBC’s reality TV show since day one along with country superstar Blake Shelton. (See Adam’s parting words below.) Over the past 16 seasons Adam mentored three winning artists: Javier Colon (Season 1), Tessanne Chin (Season 5) and Jordan Smith (Season 9). However, he hasn’t had a finalist on “The Voice” since Addison Agen back in Season 13.

After 16 seasons on “The Voice,” Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine will not be returning to a coach’s chair when the NBC singing competition series begins its 17th edition in the fall.
Levine has been a coach on the show since its inception in 2011. He will be replaced next season by Gwen Stefani. “Voice” host Carson Daly announced the switch Friday morning on NBC News’ “Today.”
Daly noted that “Voice” fans would probably miss the “frenemy” relationship that Levine has built up over the years with fellow coach Blake Shelton. Contestants coached by Levine have gone all the way on “Voice” three times during his tenure, Daly noted.
Levine addressed his departure in a lengthy Instagram post, writing, “to all of the loyal voice fans, there’s literally no show without you guys. For me, it was time to move on. Your support has meant Everything.”

Ahead of Monday’s Season 14 Semi-Finals of The Voice, I was feeling pretty confident that I already knew which singers would be making up the Final Four: Team Blake’s Pryor Baird and Kyla Jade, Team Alicia’s Britton Buchanan and Team Kelly’s Brynn Cartelli. (If they really do go to the Finals, that isn’t half bad, given my historically spotty track record as a prognosticator; when I made my initial prediction a month ago, I picked three out of those four but had subbed in Jackie Foster for Pryor — a mistake, I now suspect.) So the question...

The Voice‘s Kimberly Nichole would like to remind America that “Black Girls Rock” isn’t just an awards show, it’s a musical reality.
“Throughout my career, it’s been frustrating to me that when I say, ‘I sing rock music,’ people are always surprised,” says Season 8’s sixth-place finisher. “People don’t know the history of rock music, how it evolved from the African-American spirituals, from the sharecroppers singing songs, to the blues, and then to rock music.”

What’s more, adds Kimberly, “music is universal, and anybody can sing any style anyhow.

Yes indeed, that’s the name The Voice‘s Season 5 runner-up Jacquie Lee says she gave to the elderly woman who lives in her stomach (the same old lady that rival coach Cee Lo Green accused her of swallowing after a rousing rendition of The Jackson 5′s “Who’s Lovin’ You”).
