'Dreams of a Life', an Irish co-production from Manchester director Carol Morley, will be released in the Us next month after securing a distribution deal with Strand Releasing. The documentary's reconstructed scenes were shot at Hannay Studios in north Dublin with English actress Zawe Ashton (St. Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold) starring. Post-production was done at Dublin post house Egg with all of the grading, finishing and digital cinema print carried out by Sebastian Guest and Edel McDonnell. Other Irish crew who worked on the shoot included costume designer Leonie Pendergast; art director Emma Lowney; third assistant director Mike Hays and sound recordist Robert Flanagan. 'Dreams of a Life' was co-produced by Irish producer James Mitchell's (Ordinary Decent Criminal) Soho Moon Pictures alongside Britain's Cannon and Morley Productions.

Dcd Media, the independent TV production and distribution group, has established a wholly owned Irish production company, through its West Park Pictures subsidiary, operating as West Park West. The company has won three commissions already including of in excess of 1m euro combined value, and each already sold to Rte for broadcast. The Dublin-based business has been created in order to build on Dcd's existing relationship with Irish commissioners, such as Rte and the Irish Film Board, specifically in the documentary and factual programming genres. Dcd has contracted the services of Dublin-based, and internationally renowned, producer James Mitchell (Ordinary Decent Criminal, On Home Ground) as the new venture's Executive Producer, working alongside Andre Singer, CEO and Creative Director of Dcd-owned West Park Pictures. The Company is delighted to announce West Park West's first three commissions.
