In the shadow of a dark internet conspiracy theory, a group of globalist elites gathers for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt humans for sport. After being pulled from Universal's release schedule last summer, Blumhouse's The Hunt is now back on track for theaters, with a Friday the 13th of March release date and an updated trailer and poster highlighting the buzzed-about movie that "nobody has seen… yet."
Directed by Craig Zobel from a screenplay by Nick Cuse and Damon Lindelof, The Hunt stars Betty Gilpin, Ike Barinholtz, Emma Roberts, and Hilary Swank.
Here's what producer Jason Blum told Entertainment Weekly about the movie's return to the theatrical release calendar:
“I think we needed time. There’s never been a movie where there was so much judgment about a movie nobody has seen…. I was definitely very surprised by that. And it took a long time to process. But we always felt, together, collectively with the studio, that the movie would come out.”

Blumhouse and Universal’s “The Hunt” will get released next month, on March 13, after the film was shelved last August following mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas.
The studio also released a new trailer for the film on Tuesday. The trailer opens with people waking up gagged in a field, with access to weapons. Little do they know that they will soon be hunted by the liberal elites.
However, the movie faced a lot of backlash in August when many people believed it was about liberals hunting republicans in the Trump era. The new trailer suggests that people jumped the gun and judged a movie without having seen it, and that it might be completely different than what we all expected. And it all started with a dark internet conspiracy.

DreamWorks has tapped Focus Features' Jane Evans as its executive vp physical production. The move comes on the heels of DreamWorks' previous head of physical production Steve Molen exiting the company in April amid a slowdown that resulted in layoffs in his department. Evans will start at DreamWorks in July, working on such projects as the Vince Vaughn comedy vehicle Starbuck and the big-screen adaptation of the Electronic Arts video game Need for Speed. “Jane’s below-the-line credits coupled with her executive experience is invaluable to the studio as we look to move forward with our projects,”

Friday Update: Deadline told you last night that more layoffs and resignations were coming. Today DreamWorks is confirming that it’s laid off 10 people from physical production, studio services, legal, and It. Thursday Pm: DreamWorks’ head of physical production Steve Molen resigned today. His exit is said to be related to the rebooted company’s continuing money woes just recently mitigated by a new but smaller deal with India-based Reliance. Problem is, there isn’t much for someone with Molen’s skill set to do at DreamWorks 2.0 right now. The company is releasing only two movies this year: the small People Like Us and the Steven Spielberg-directed Lincoln. Both pics are expected to be modest box office at best — even though weekend grosses have heated up for 2012. But, following several films like big bet Cowboys & Aliens and modestly budgeted Fright Night which underperformed in 2011, a draconian plan to downsize...

The departure of longtime physical production executive Steve Molen from DreamWorks comes as the company implements a layoff of 10 of its 80 employees, primarily in Molen's department. "The adjustments we're working are in keeping with the kinds of adjustments that are being made across our industry and will reflect our efforts to be more streamlined going forward," studio CEO Stacey Snider tells THR. The company also will cut positions in its legal, insurance and It departments. The layoffs are associated with DreamWorks' renegotiation with Reliance Entertainment, which has agreed to provide financing that will enable Steven Spielberg's studio

Ed Vaizey, the UK arts minister, has written a stern letter to UKFC head John Woodward demanding to know whether the agency has been spending public money on campaigning for a reprieve. Vaizey wants to know whether the UKFC has been “briefing” the film industry – including Hollywood – to protest against its closure. Clint Eastwood has become the latest Hollywood star urging the government to reconsider its decision. “The prospect of losing a valuable resource such as the UKFC is of great concern to us,” Eastwood wrote. Steven Molen, DreamWorks’ head of physical production, has also written to Chancellor George Osborne. Fifty three British actors including James McAvoy, Emily Blunt and Bill Nighy have signed a public letter condemning the decision. The government has been rattled by the strength of public support for the film agency. Nearly 50,000 people have joined the Save the UK Film Council Facebook page, while another 25,000 have signed a petition.

DreamWorks writes to chancellor and joins high-profile actors and directors to have spoken out against council's closure
The government's decision to axe the UK Film Council attracted further controversy today when it emerged that DreamWorks Studios, the Hollywood studio founded by Steven Spielberg, had written to the chancellor to "express its concern" over the move.
A letter signed by an executive at DreamWorks, Steven Molen, who is in charge of location decisions for the studio, was sent to George Osborne last week, adding to the high-profile list of figures who have spoken out against ending the council's funding. Among the films made by DreamWorks on location in Britain are Sweeney Todd and War Horse.
