While Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander is the central character of the new Jk Rowling-penned movie Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, just as much love should be given to Dan Fogler’s Jacob Kowalski, who Scamander meets on his journey to America.
The movie is set in 1926 New York and Fogler’s character encounters Scamander as he’s trying to help the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MacUsa) tackle a mysterious entity that has been destroying large chunks of the city, endangering the secrecy of the wizarding community. Jacob is a “No-Maj”—in other words, he’s not a wizard—so he is immediately pulled into this fantastic secret world of Nifflers and other magical creatures that escape from Scamander’s briefcase zoo once he arrives. Along with Newt, an auror named Tina (Katherine Waterston) and her beautiful sister Queenie (Alison Sudol from Transparent...

Are you ready for another unlikely pairing for the latest feature on our Fearnet web series here known as 'The Vault?' Of course you are! This week, we've got actors Samm Levine ('Inglourious Basterds') and Amber Benson ('Buffy The Vampire Slayer') providing commentary for William Lustig's "slasher" cult classic 'Maniac,' starring the late, great Joe Spinell.
You may be familiar with the recent remake starring Elijah Wood (currently streaming over on Netflix Instant), but check out the film that not only inspired that film, but that kicked off a slew of "slasher"imitators in the early 80's! This is the first official directing credit for Bill Lustig who would go on to give us the 'Maniac Cop' and 'Relentless' franchises and it stars character actor Joe Spinell ('The Godfather,' 'Rocky') in a genre defining role as the sympatheitc and troubled Frank Zito,...

They're out of this world, out of control and out to get you...at least according to the new and extremely early piece of teaser artwork for 'Cute Little Buggers'. The new British comedy horror project from director Tony Jopia has been inspired by classic little creature features from the past such as 'Critters' and 'Gremlins' but has the added bonus of a third dimension as the feature will hit theatres in 3D. The UK quad poster, shown below, features a couple of furry claws scratching along the title and just hinting at what the little buggers will look like. The movie stars Caroline Monroe, Joe Egan, Kristofer Dayne, Gary Martin, John R. Walker, Dani Thompson, Jess Jantschek, Samar Sarila, Jo Price, Sarah Bennett and Leslie Grantham and it'll land in UK theatres from 1 June 2014....

★★★☆☆ StudioCanal have just released four monster titles from Amicus Studios, the only company which even came close to beating Hammer at their own game during the 1960 and 70s. Warlords of Atlantis (1978), They Came from Beyond Space (1967), At the Earth's Core (1976) and The Land That Time Forgot (1975), directed by Kevin Connor, Freddie Francis and starring Doug McClure, Peter Cushing, Caroline Monroe and Susan Penhaligon, are all examples of some of the studio's better-known epics.
