"I think 'Twilight' could be huge." Those were the words that were once said to be uttered by Paramount's former co-president of production Karen Rosenfelt, who helped turn the YA novel into a movie. While the movie ultimately wouldn't be made at Paramount, it turns out she was more right than anyone could have possibly predicted. In the end, Paramount's loss would turn into Summit Entertainment's ridiculous gain as the movie based on Stephenie Meyer's best-selling book would kick off not just a billion-dollar franchise, but an entire blockbuster YA craze.
It's easy to take for granted now, but the saga of Bella and Edward — which is now ingrained in popular culture — did not reek of success at the outset.

Dungeons & Dragons series: Drew Crevello joins the party as showrunner of the live-action adaptation
The Dungeons & Dragons series is gaining another party member in Drew Crevello (WeCrashed) as the showrunner of the live-action adaptation for Paramount+. Crevello will work closely with Rawson Marshall Thurber, who wrote the pilot script and will direct the first episode. The eight-episode series is a co-production between eOne and Paramount Pictures, with eOne leading the charge.
According to Deadline’s previous report, “Adapting Dungeons & Dragons for television has been a major focus for eOne under President of Global Television Michael Lombardo following the company’s 2019 acquisition by Hasbro. The live-action series has been tipped to be the studio’s largest-scope TV project ever, potentially launching a Dungeons & Dragons universe spanning multiple scripted and unscripted shows.”
Deadline would also like to remind us that Dungeons & Dragons is “a fantasy role-playing game franchise. Featuring humans, elves, orcs, and other fantastical creatures engaging in wars, treasure hunts, and campaigns,...

Paramount Pictures has been releasing a steady stream of clips and featurettes to promote their upcoming release Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, which is based on the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game franchise and is set to reach theatres on March 31st. The clip shows off a 3 minute stretch of the film, with the lead characters and some disposable side characters getting chased through a maze by a tricky beast. The featurette discusses the fact that the story of the film pits our heroes against the forces of evil.

The 2000 live-action film based on the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game franchise didn’t go over very well with audiences, but it did earn the Awfully Good treatment and spawn a couple of sequels (2005’s Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God and 2012’s Dungeons & Dragons 3: The Book of Vile Darkness). The movie would spawn a couple of straight-to-video sequels.

“How to Train Your Dragon” director Dean DeBlois has come on board to direct and write “Micronauts” for Paramount Pictures and Hasbro.
DeBlois’ hiring is a major step forward for the project, which has been in the works at Paramount for a decade. The film will be based on the eponymous intergalactic explorer action figures made by Mego, based on a line by Japanese toy company Takara, that spawned a comic book series in the late 1970s and ’80s. The Marvel Comics series followed a small group of characters that formed a resistance after the dictator Baron Karza killed the royal family.
The Micronauts adaptation had been set up at J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot for several years, and in 2015, Paramount announced that Akiva Goldsman had been brought on to supervise a writers room for “Micronauts.”
“Micronauts” will be produced through Hasbro’s Allspark division. Producers are Brian Goldner, Stephen Davis and Greg Mooradian.

Monopoly has just acquired the proverbial Marvin Gardens of a Hollywood movie treatment. When all four of Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series have been brought to the big screen, there is a possibility that spin-offs will be developed out of the series. The speculation was broken out by Radar Online after having a chat with two of the vampire saga's producers, Wyck Godfrey and Greg Mooradian, at the 36th Annual Vision Awards in Beverly Hills late last month.
Teasing what to expect after the last film of the series,"The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn", comes out, they suggested that they are entirely open to the idea of spin-offs. "Stay tuned. I think if our movies do as well as the first did all possibilities are out there," they were quoted as saying. "But right now we need to finish what we have and finish Stephenie's vision as best we can and then let's see where the audience demands us to go from there.

Most of us were apparently under the mistaken impression that there'd be four Twilight movies to complement the four books Stephanie Meyer wrote about bipolar, diamond-crusted vampires and the deluded teenage girls who love them. Producers, it seems, are contemplating taking this franchise beyond the books and into spin-off territory. "Radar Online" recently spoke to producers' Wyck Godfrey, Greg Mooradian and Guy Oseary, who suggested that a spin-off is certainly within the realm...

Summit Entertainment should probably stop making and releasing all other movies and just keep putting out the “Twilight” offerings until the kids get tired of them. How will they know that they’ve squeezed the sponge dry? When the ticket sales stop. Until then, why even bother with other movies? The company has all three remaining “Twilight” books set to hit theaters within two years of each other (a spectacular and grinding production schedule, indeed) but after that — what next? How about spin-off movies? According to “Twilight” producers Wyck Godfrey, Greg Mooradian and Guy Oseary (via Geek Files) one way to go after the Stephenie Meyers books have all been adapted is to spin-off the Volturi vampire clan. Maybe explore a little bit of their history, their present, and future. Great idea, but there is a catch: the kids love their Bella and Edward, and those two aren’t exactly...

For any movie studio interested in building a lucrative blockbuster franchise, Hollywood.s current holy grail, adapting a long-running and already popular literary series is generally the method of choice. That works fine of course, until you run out of books to adapt and your cash-cow is left dead in the water. That.s where Warner Bros. is headed as they.re rapidly running out of Harry Potter to repurpose and eventually, that.s where Summit will end up with Twilight. Except, they may have a plan. Screenrant uncovered an interview with Radar Online in which they caught two of The Twilight Saga.s producers, Wyck Godfrey and Greg Mooradian at the 36th Annual Vision Awards in Beverly Hills late last month. When asked about the possibility of doing Twilight spin-offs once they run out of books, they had this to say: .Stay tuned. I think if our movies do...

All Four of Stephenie Meyer's vampire romance novels in the Twilight series have been immensely popular and the film adaptations, starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, are generating phenomenal interest too.
Following the box office success of Twilight, the second film, New Moon, comes out in November. Filming on Eclipse begins on August 17 and production on Breaking Dawn is set to start straight after that.
The only limitation on the franchise is the amount of material available. All that's left is the unfinished fifth novel, Midnight Sun.
As I reported earlier, Meyer stopped working on it when it was leaked online though she says she may return to it in a couple of years.
So what could come next? One answer could be extending the life of the series through spin-offs.

We all know that the Twilighters of the world cannot wait for the latest installment - The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which stars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and haunts UK shores from November this year. So to ease your pain I bring you details of a recent interview with Twilight producers Wyck Godfrey and Greg Mooradian - and signs that a Twilight spin-off could be in our future?…
The pair - along with fellow Twilight/New Moon producer Guy Oseary - were awarded the Film of Vision Award at the 36th Annual Vision Awards in Beverly Hills this past Saturday, and RadarOnline.com were on hand to pick the brains of the Twilight masterminds and asked the question that wasn’t on anyones lips - is there the chance of a Volturi spin-off?
While the response wasn’t an absolute definite, the vampiric producers certainly didn’t go anyway to denying the possibility,...
