Originated the role of Marvin, the Paranoid Android (as well as
numerous other voices) in the BBC4 Radio comedy, "The Hitch Hiker's
Guide To The Galaxy". He later returned to provide Marvin's voice in
the TV version, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (1981).
Returned for the new "Quandary Phase" episodes of the The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) BBC4 radio series, adapted from book 4 of
the late Douglas Adams' Hitch Hiker's Trilogy "So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish".

Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy" BBC4 radio series, adapted from book
3 of the late Douglas Adams' "Hitch Hiker's Trilogy", "Life, The Universe,
and Everything".
He was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1983 (1982 Season)
for Best Actor in a Revival, "The Doll's House".
