(March 28 to April 20, 2008) Her novel, "The Bluest Eye," was adapted by Lydia Diamond in a Hartford Stage production at the Long Wharf Theatre (Mainstage) in New Haven, Connecticut. Eric Ting was director. Scott Bradley was scenic designer. Toni-Leslie James was costume designer. Russell H. Champa was lighting designer. Michael Bodeen and Rob Milburn were composers and sound designers. M. Akil Davis was movement consultant. Deborah Hecth was dialect coach. Mark Olsen was fight director.
(2016 to 2017 season) Lydia R. Diamond's stage adaptation of her novel, "The Bluest Eye," was performed at the Tyrone Guthrie Theater, Wurtele Thrust Stage, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Joseph Haj was artistic director.
