Jaroslava Moserová-Davidová was born on January 17, 1930 in Prague, Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic]. She was a writer, known for Dvojrole (1999), Vlastne se nic nestalo (1989) and Stredoletní noci sen (2005). She was married to Milan David. She died on March 24, 2006 in Prague, Czech Republic.
Became President of UNESCO in 1996, and was president of the UNESCO
general conference from 1999 to 2001.
The last ambassador of an undivided Czechoslovakia to Australia and New
Zealand from 1991 to 1993.
Treated dissident student Jan Palach who set himself alight in
Wenceslas Square, Prague as a protest against the 1968 Soviet invasion
of Czechoslovakia.
Elected to the Czech National Council (Parliament) in 1990 at the first
free elections after the end of communist rule. Elected to the Czech
Senate in 1993.
Was a medical doctor by training who specialised in treating burns, and
in plastic surgery, but was also a painter, sculptor, playwright and
champion skier.
