Found dead on a train. Was identified by Michael Sheard at the police mortuary.
He was the original Jabba the Hutt stand-in for Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977). George Lucas had planned to replace him with a stop-motion character, but budget constraints forced the production crew to scrap the scene altogether. His scenes were later added to the 1997 Special Edition of the film, with a CGI version of Jabba replacing him. A brief clip of the original scene was shown in the TV special From 'Star Wars' to 'Jedi': The Making of a Saga (1983).
Studied acting in London in 1959.
His wardrobe from Time Bandits is similar, if not identical to the one
he wore as a stand-in for Jabba the Hutt in Star Wars Episode IV.
