Television is a fast-paced business, where a show can be written, developed, ordered, cast, produced, and aired all within the course of a year. But sometimes, executives get ahead of themselves and shows are announced prematurely, or circumstances change, forcing delay.
IndieWire combed through some high-profile TV announcements from the past few years that haven’t yet seen the light of day, and asked their status. Some are still in the works; some are still “in development,” which could be code for “we don’t want to admit yet that this show is dead”; and some have quietly faded away.

TNT is moving ahead with its "Tales From the Crypt" reboot, announcing on Thursday it has ordered a ten-episode first season of the anthology series as part of a block of programming overseen by M. Night Shyamalan.
The network also confirmed the new take will also boast a "newly reinvented" Crypt Keeper, something that was in doubt at one point. The horror block, which will feature short and longform stories, will launch on the network sometime next year.
The network also greenlit seasonal anthology pilot "Time of Death". The season-long horror tale unfolds in real time, with each episode taking viewers hour-by-hour through a single 'long night of hell' as a murderous psychopath returns to his Midwestern hometown during the annual county fair to exact revenge.
Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy will pen the script for that while Shyamalan, Mark Stern and Stuart Ford will executive produce. Each season...

M. Night Shyamalan’s reboot of the classic anthology series Tales From The Crypt is officially moving forward at TNT, with the network picking up the series for a 10-episode first season. Based on the original EC Comics series, the new show will be hosted by “a newly reinvented Crypt Keeper,” with Shyamalan acting as executive producer.
Horror fans have more to be excited about, however, because the episode order for Tales From The Crypt wasn’t the only move TNT made today in cementing its genre cred. The network also announced two new series – Time of Death and Creatures – which are set to function as a programming block of horror for its viewers.
Time of Death will be another anthology show, this time focused on each season taking viewers hour-by-hour through one single, “long night of hell.” So, like 24 but with maniacal, axe-wielding serial killers. The first season concerns...

The world's second largest hardware chain, Lowe's, is ranked among the Top 50 corporations in America. Its website proudly displays the slogan "Let's Build Something Together."
However, the company's recent actions suggest that this togetherness might not include Muslim-Americans. The company recently pulled its ads from a reality television program, "All-American Muslim," which focuses on the lives of five Muslim families in Dearborn, Mich., the largest Muslim community in the United States.
Lowe's acted in the wake of demands by a conservative group, the Florida Family Association. The group's stated goal is to "defend, protect and promote traditional, biblical values." In an email message sent to advertisers of the "All-American Muslim" show, the Ffa said that the show was "propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda's clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values."

Australian actor Matthew Newton has signed a consent order which will ban him from contacting his former fiancee, "Transformers" star Rachael Taylor. Taylor broke off the engagement over the summer and her lawyers later went to court in Sydney to apply for an apprehended violence order (Avo) against the star.
The papers revealed Taylor had accused Newton of several "unprovoked violent assaults" during a vacation in Europe in August. A court granted a temporary order to keep the pair apart last month and now magistrates in Sydney have officially sanctioned the Avo, which will see Newton jailed for up to two years if he breaches the terms of the agreement.
Newton will be prevented from approaching or contacting Taylor unless it is through lawyers. He is also banned from entering buildings where she lives or works and from approaching her family. Newton's lawyer, Christopher Murphy, confirmed his client had signed...
