He and
David McMahon
are the only two actors to appear in both of the landmark science fiction films of 1951,
The Thing from Another World (1951)
and
The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)
. Neff also appeared in the same year's
Flight to Mars (1951)
as well as
The Reluctant Astronaut (1967)
