Directors Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi have made their careers capturing humans who use nature as their playgrounds, challenged by the world’s peaks and crevices that are as dangerous as they are majestic. From their Oscar-winning “Free Solo” about Alex Honnold’s risky climb to their 2021 venture “The Rescue” about the cave divers who helped save a stranded Thai boys soccer team, the couple’s brand implies both gorgeous vistas and cinematic thrills.
Their latest, “Wild Life,” trades in many of the same themes, and yet carries little of that tension. This time around,
“Wild Life” tells the story of Douglas and Kristine Tompkins, a billionaire couple who bought up millions of acres of land in Chile and Argentina to turn into national parks. The film, which uses Kris as its primary source, is a paean to their good deeds and a memorial to Doug, who died in a kayaking accident,...

Zac Efron has proved how supportive he can be when it comes to Vanessa Hudgens. Just Jared reported the leading man of "Charlie St. Cloud" got up from his seat to give his girlfriend a $20 tip when watching her dancing on stage during her last performance in "Rent" at The Hollywood Bowl on Sunday night, August 8.
The 22-year-old heartthrob made the interesting move when Vanessa, who was portraying junkie stripper Mimi in the Neil Patrick Harris-directed production, was showing off her provocative moves in a musical number titled "Out Tonight". Reacting to his gesture, the "Sucker Punch" beauty herself gladly took the bill and stuffed it in her top.
Before watching Vanessa performed at the Hollywood Bowl, Zac made a stop at 2010 Teen Choice Awards at Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. He took the stage at the annual teen awards show to present a surfboard to Sandra Bullock...

Imagine the scene: Zac Efron as teen Mike O'Donnell is backed up against the wall as his unknowing daughter Maggie (Michelle Trachtenberg) desperately tries to kiss him. Mike: No Maggie, I can't! Maggie: Why not? Mike: Because, it's wrong - I just can't, I don't -- Maggie: Oh, I see. Mike: You see? Maggie: Yeah... I mean, your hair is always perfectly coifed, your jeans are so tight... Mike: Oh. Righhht, you think I'm gay? Yeah, yep that's me. Gay, gay Mike. Gayer than a bus-load-of-gay-men Mike... And off she goes, no longer attempting to seduce her father trapped in a teen body. The thriller stars Beyonce as the wife of a successful asset manager (Idris Elba) whose co-worker (Ali Larter) develops an unhealthy obsession and begins to stalk him, turning their lives upside down. The movie stars Efron as the teenage version of Mike O'Donnell, a thirty something husband and father played by Matthew Perry. The street brawling flick 'Fighting' -- starring Channing Tatum and Terrence Howard -- debuted in third with an estimated $11.4 million. In 17 Again, Fred Savage plays a...no, that's not right. Kirk Cameron is...no, hold on a second. Tom Hanks is all grown up -damn. Okay, I have it. Zac Efron plays young Mike O'Donnell, a former super-stud high school basketball player who grew up to be Matthew Perry. Once the most popular kid in school (We know this because during a basketball game he joined the cheerleading squad mid-performance and executed all the circa-1989 dance moves with perfection.), Mike is now in the midst of a failed marriage and his kids want nothing to do with him. Sad because Mike gave up his chance at college b-ball glory when his girlfriend Scarlett became pregnant and literally dropped everything to do the honorable thing by getting hitched. Now, subconsciously, Mike resents his choices and wonders for 20 years hence what could have been. Pro ball player? Maybe.

What would you do if you got a second chance at life? Would you learn from your past mistakes and try to make an effort to change the future or would you just fall back into hold patterns? Life for forty something Mike O'Donnell is pretty dull; his kids hate him, his wife filed for divorce, and he just lost a major promotion at work. When life throws you down in the drops, there is only one place to turn for answers, and that is your past. Matthew Perry plays the down and out dad that once held a bright future before he single handedly sabotaged it by neglecting his wife and kids. When Perry is approached with the chance to do it over again and get a second chance at life, he takes action. Zac Efron in 17 Again
Photo: New Line Cinema Walking into 17 Again I was thinking it was my first Zac Efron feature, but I forgot about Hairspray, which I admittedly loved, but not due to Efron's involvement, which is obvious considering I forgot he was even in the movie. Reading around the Internet it seems people are championing Efron and are waiting for him to break out of this teen idol stage so we can finally begin judging him on more adult work. Unfortunately, we aren't given much to work with here as 17 Again carries only a few laughs and all the cliched plot trappings you would expect. To say it is downright terrible is a cop out because it's too easy and I did laugh more than a couple of times, but to say it is any good would be a lie. Here we have Efron playing Mike O'Donnell, star...

17 Again
Starring Zac Efron, Leslie Mann, and Thomas Lennon
Directed by Burr Steers
Rated PG-13
We've seen enough body swap movies over the years to have it all figured out by now. It usually begins with someone making a wish about wanting to be big or small and then, after the transfer occurs, the person who made the wish realizes they were better off all along being themsevles, only they wouldn't have known that had they not become a teenager again or an old man.
So, knowing the rules, we are seldom caught unawares by the body swaps. Like anything else, if it's presented the right way - not necessarily an original way - then a body swap can be entertaining. That's the case with 17 Again.
Mike O'Donnell (Matthew Perry) has seen his life spin out of control. Twenty years ago, he quit the basketball team because he knocked up his high school girlfriend.

I had a blast talking to the cast of "17 Again." And I was genuinely pleased with the film (read my review of "17 Again" right here)!
First stop, Zac Efron (the younger Mike O'Donnell) and "Reno 911's" Thomas Lennon who played Mike's super-rich nerd friend, Ned!
We talked about:
*** Their characters
*** What attracted them to the project
*** Who's the swordfighter? (there's a fun lightsaber duel in the film)
*** Will they go back in time to correct a mistake, and much, much more!
Take a look at my interview with Efron and Lennon:
Next stop, the lovely Leslie Mann (Scarlet) and Matthew Perry (the older Mike O'Donnell).
We talked about:
*** Their characters
*** What they were doing when they read the script
*** Leslie kissing Zac (Cougar Alert)
*** Will they go back in time to correct a mistake, and much, much more!
Here's my interview with Mann and Perry:...

Older Mike went to high school in the 80's and is a little out of touch with what is cool and hip. In the trailer, Mike shows up to his first day of school sporting a KFed look because he believes that is cool! Both Matthew Perry and Zac Efron share the character Mike O'Donnell as an older man that mysteriously turns into the 17 year old version of himself and is given the chance to do high school all over again. Older Mike went to high school in the 80's and is a little out of touch with what is cool and hip. In the trailer, Mike shows up to his first day of school sporting a KFed look because he believes that is cool! This is just one subtle example of the witty and clever comedy you will experience at 17 Again. Learn more about the film, plus...

A series of "17 Again" pictures has made its way out for public viewing. Nine in total, the fresh stills take their focus of attention to its young leading man, Zac Efron, as he portrays a 37-year-old man stuck in his own 17-year-old body. While most of the photos present Efron alone, some of them show him accompanied by co-stars, Leslie Mann and Thomas Lennon.
"17 Again" revolves around Mike O'Donnell. As a 17-year-old, Mike O'Donnell seems to have it all. He is a star athlete in his high school and gets a college scholarship. Still, rather than going to the college, he chooses to marry his high school sweetheart, Scarlett. After twenty years though, Mike realizes that his life doesn't turn out the way he imagines. He has separated from his wife, his kids ignore him, and his career is going nowhere. However, he is about to take an unimaginable twist of fate.

TV and film actress Michelle Trachtenberg has shared to Us Weekly about her excitement of having Zac Efron playing her on-screen father in the upcoming New Line Cinema's "Seventeen Again", claiming she was "hysterical" when she first learned about the idea. She just couldn't be happier about being in the same scene with the actor that she wants to "wear a shirt to the 17 Again premiere that says 'Zac Efron's My Daddy!'"
"I don't think his girlfriend would like it much!" she jokingly told the publication at the Reebok "Flash" event on Wednesday, November 19 in N.Y.C. "Seventeen Again" itself, which is of comedy genre, tells the story of a guy, Mike O'Donnell, whose life didn't quite turn out how he wanted it to and wishes he could go back to his high school years and change it. The movie won't hit the U.S. theaters until April next year.

A lock of hair from the late Diana, Princess Of Wales has been removed from an Internet auction site for breaching a ban on the sale of body parts.
The clipping was due to be sold for $600 (GBP300) on New Zealand-based website TradeMe, but the auction was stopped after complaints from other traders.
The late British royal originally gave the piece of hair to a friend, taping it into a poetry book with the message, "My lock. Diana. 1995". The friend later sold it on to an American collector.
But the website eventually agreed not to go through with the sale, and spokesman nm0640814 autoMike O'Donnell[/link] said the decision was "really simple - we don't do body parts!"
