- Max Obal was born on September 4, 1881 in Brieg, Silesia, Germany [now Brzeg, Opolskie, Poland]. He was a director and writer, known for Das Rattenloch (1921), Sein Rekordflug (1914) and Der größte Gauner des Jahrhunderts (1928). He died on May 18, 1949 in Wilmersdorf, Berlin, Germany.
