- George Washington Ogden was born on December 9, 1871 in Johnson County, Kansas, USA. He was a writer, known for The Bond Boy (1922), The Duke of Chimney Butte (1921) and The Trail Rider (1925). He died on March 31, 1966 in Los Angeles County, California, USA.
- Was grandfather to George O. (for "Ogden") Abell (1927-1983), a research astronomer and teacher at UCLA, as well as a founding member of the organization now known as the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry. After Abell's parents divorced, Ogden took them into his house and helped raise his grandson.
