Christopher Pearce, who in the 1980s served as head of production of Cannon Films, the legendary B-movie house known for churning out a slew of action fare, has died. He was 73.
Pearce died Sunday in Boca Raton, Fla., after a battle with cancer, family friend Polly Chung told The Hollywood Reporter.

The Million Dollar Revival, a benefit for Fran Drescher's Cancer Schmancer Movement organized by non-profit I Heart Inc, is an eclectic evening of live music and comedy true to the era of old-time variety shows taking place on December 13th, 2009 at the historic Million Dollar Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. The event promises to be a true Los Angeles-style melting pot of artists one would never imagine gracing the same stage, coming together for one night only in the fight against women’s cancers.

Generation Obama La, along with the help of L.A. musicians and artists, are putting together "Arts at the Park After Dark," an event to support the Summer Night Lights program which extends the hours at Los Angeles recreation centers.
The event brings together local indie musicians like Chris Pierce, Audible Mainframe, and Warpaint, as well as Krcw DJ Jeremy Sole and emcee Brian White. The Barnsdall Municipal Gallery will host works from La's visual artists.
The Summer Night Lights program, which keeps youth centers open from 7:00 - 10:00pm, led to staggering drops in crime, including an 86% reduction in homicides and a 23% drop in aggravated assaults near the participating Summer Night Lights areas.
The event takes place June 10th at the Barnsdall Art Park in Los Angeles, CA. Tickets are currently on sale, while youth under 18 are admitted free.
