To cheer on finalist Andy Murray at Wimbledon, tennis fan Princess Kate wore an outfit with a distinctly Scottish influence to show her support of the Scot-born champion. Sitting next to husband Prince William at Sunday's men's finals at the prestigious British championships, Kate, who often uses her clothing to show patriotic support or convey a subtle message of allegiance, chose to wear an ivory silk dress from Alexander McQueen's "Obsession" collection. McQueen, who often used tartan in his designs (as well as wearing it himself) was fiercely proud of his Scottish roots. Adding to her Scottish flair, Kate...

What would you think if I pitched a version of The Magnificent Seven to you, but the seven were women? In the days when we are looking at a female Ghostbusters (not a bad thing) you’d probably nod and think it was a good idea (or complain). Fact is, it has already been made decades ago and directed by Nico Mastorakis. Hired to Kill is an interesting cult gem, so it’s no wonder Arrow Video have released it on Blu-ray.
Mercenary Frank Ryan (Brian Thompson) is tasked with taking out a South American dictator, and freeing a revolutionary leader by the CIA. Knowing that the countries ruler, Michal Bartos’ (Oliver Reed...

Belladonna Of Sadness
Release Date: Coming Soon from Cinelicious Pics Written By: Yoshiyuki Fukuda, Jules Michelet (novel), Eiichi Yamamoto Directed By: Eiichi Yamamoto Starring: Tatsuya Nakadai, Katsuyuki Itô, Aiko Nagayama
When I heard about Cinelicious Pics’ plans to restore and release the long lost 1973 anime Belladonna Of Sadness, I was well and truly excited. I’m a huge aficionado of 70s-era anime, and this baby has been a “holy grail” of sorts for folks like me for a good many years — much desired but damn near impossible to obtain. So that being said, and with those expectations set freakin’ sky high, let’s see if ol’ Belladonna was worth the wait or will it just fill me with sadness of my own!
Belladonna Of Sadness, based loosely (and by that I mean hardly at all) on the French novel La Sorcière by Jules Michelet, tells the brutal tale of Jeanne,...

You could say that the 80s are the decade that just keeps on giving, especially when it comes to cult movies. There are some that may pass by your radar though, and you miss out on their glory. This is the case of The Zero Boys for me, and lucky Arrow Video’s new Blu-ray has allowed me to fix this.
A group of survival game players, The Zero Boys decide to take a trip to the woods to let off some steam. With new friend Jamie (Kelli Maroney) tagging along everything seems to be going okay. When they discover a cabin in the woods though and decide to shack up there it doesn’t take long before they realise they...

Bananaman appears to be heading to the London stage rather than the big screen...
You may recall no shortage of excitement when news filtered through a year or two back about a possible Bananaman movie. The film, based on the DC Thomson comic superhero, was originally due in cinemas in 2015, but as you might have guessed, there’s no sign of it happening just yet.
Instead, it looks like it’s migrated – at least for the time being – into a stage musical. News has broken this morning that Bananaman The Musical will be heading to the London stage. The story of Eric Wimp, the ordinary boy of 29 Acacia Road who eats a banana and becomes a superhero will, it seems, head to the West End. Broadway surely beckons.
There’s still no shortage of mystery here. We don’t know who’s set to play Bananaman, which...

Mitch Winehouse will start work on his film about Amy Winehouse ''fairly shortly.'' The father of the late 'Rehab' singer has revealed he is hard at work sorting out the logistics of a celebration of her life but teased he has a wider vision as well as just a movie. He said: ''We hope to start work fairly shortly on it. But it's going to be more than just a film. Amy created a range of dresses for Fred Perry, she created six seasons, I don't know how she managed to do it but she did and they're still selling, they're selling...

The first time you see Idris Elba in the child-soldier drama Beasts of No Nation, he's emerging out of the jungle brush, cutting through the middle of an army of tiny, machete-and-machine-gun-wielding tweens. Clad in a beret and an outfit that might be characterized as "military dictator summer-casual," he strides up to the young boy at the center of this crowd and asks "Who brought this thing here?" in a booming voice. It's a proper movie entrance, bold and brash, immediately establishing the man known only as "Commandant" as a charismatic,...

Andy Murray recorded his 42nd win at Wimbledon yesterday (June 30), and also marked his 10th year at the biggest tennis tournament in the world.
There have been many stories of triumph, tears and tantrums since making his debut as a gawky teenager in 2005, peaking at his incredible win eight years later in July 2013. Here's a look back at his decade of putting us through the emotional wringer each summer.
2005
Result: Third round
Hair level: Scruffy but short
The year after triumphing at the Junior Us Open, Murray had won his first senior matches at Queens just two weeks before his first Grand Slam. It was truly the changing of the guard as Tim Henman lost in the second round, the first time he failed to get to the second week since 1995.
Despite the presence of Sean Connery in the crowd, Murray's inexperience wasn't enough to beat David Nalbandian in a thrilling five-setter.

The Wimbledon Championships are the Mecca for all tennis professionals, proving why it is the most coveted Grand Slam in the tennis calendar. Since its inauguration in 1877, Wimbledon has consistently attracted the world’s greatest players to SW19 all hoping to be crowned champion. The history of the prestigious event cannot be underestimated, making it the highlight of the tennis calendar each and every year.
For the majority of its 128 championships, Wimbledon played host to tennis’ greatest amateur players, including former British three-time champion Fred Perry and all-round tennis legend Rod Laver. Due to its immense popularity, commercial pressures and rumours of amateurs taking money under the table, the Wimbledon Championships entered the open era in 1968. This is heralded as the birth of modern, professional tennis and was the first time that players could legitimately earn a living from their sport.
