Nearly two out of five streaming video users say they are spending too much time trying to find something interesting to watch, according to a new consumer study released by Accenture this month.
Details from the survey were reported in Accenture’s “Media Thrive Index,” which serves as a wake-up call to media and entertainment companies that are looking to increase interest and revenue from consumers who are increasingly taking up streaming services for their video needs.
Around 36 percent of those surveyed said they’re tired of having to constantly browse through services and platforms for something interesting to watch. Sixty-two percent of respondents said the content that streaming services are recommending to them aren’t in line with their own personal interests.
That is leading to higher churn across services, with 60 percent saying they’ve rotated through subscription streaming offerings based on...

Actor Michael Keaton has spent the last two years reprising his iconic roles from Tim Burton films. The actor will be seen as the beloved ‘bio-exorcist’ Beetlegeuse in the upcoming sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the teaser of which debuted earlier this week. Keaton also starred as Bruce Wayne a.k.a Batman in last year’s Dceu film The Flash.
While fans were ecstatic to see Keaton don the cowl again, his casting in the original 1989 Batman did not receive the same fanfare. When he was cast as Wayne in the adaptation, many fans reportedly were outraged at the casting as he was known as a comedic actor. Fans reportedly wrote thousands of letters to Warner Bros. to dissuade them from casting Keaton.

In 2018, Bradley Cooper rocked the world with his directorial debut, the latest retelling of "A Star is Born." Instead of rushing forward with this momentum, Cooper gave himself a chance to relax. During 2019 and 2020, his only performance was voice acting as Rocket Raccoon in "Avengers: Endgame" (though he did help produce "Joker" that same year). His brief hiatus ended in 2021 with two of his best performances yet. In Paul Thomas Anderson's 1970s hangout flick "Licorice Pizza," Cooper had a hilarious cameo as the movie producer John Peters. Cooper plays Peters as aggressive, self-aggrandizing, and lecherous — he'd be despicable if he weren't so funny.
One character who doesn't have that saving grace of humor is Stanton Carlisle, Cooper's other 2021 performance. Stan is the lead of "Nightmare Alley," the 2nd adaptation of William Lindsay Grisham's novel. This one, directed by Guillermo del Toro, turned the story from a 1940s contemporary to a period piece.
