Last year, Trick or Treat Studios released an officially licensed 1:6 scale figure of the zombie known as the Tarman from the 1985 zombie horror comedy The Return of the Living Dead (watch it Here). That figure is still available for purchase at This Link, going for the price of $159.99. Now Trick or Treat Studios is accepting pre-orders for another officially licensed The Return of the Living Dead item, one that works as a standalone display or can be used as an accessory for the Tarman figure: a 245 Trioxin barrel set! This one costs $99.99 and can be pre-ordered on the Trick or Treat Studios website.
Here’s the description of the barrel set: Trick or Treat Studios is proud to present the officially licensed, The Return of the Living Dead – 245 Trioxin Barrel Set. This set is a fun standalone and a perfect display accessory for the 1:6 scale Tarman figure. Carefully...

Next year will mark the 40th anniversary of director Fritz Kiersch’s 1984 Stephen King adaptation Children of the Corn (watch it Here) – but the folks at Trick or Treat Studios are getting the celebration started early. They’re already accepting pre-orders for a two-pack of action figures based on the characters Isaac and Malachi! An image of the action figures can be seen at the bottom of this article. The two-pack can be pre-ordered at This Link, where more images of the figures can be found.
The action figures are expected to start shipping out in just a couple months, on September 15th.
Scripted by George Goldsmith and based on a King short story, Children of the Corn has the following synopsis: As physician Burt Stanton and his girlfriend Vicky drive across the Midwest to his new job, their trip comes to a sudden halt when they encounter the body...

Almost forty years ago, writer/director Dan O’Bannon delivered one of the most highly entertaining zombie movies of all time with The Return of the Living Dead (watch it Here)… and in the process, spawned a franchise. There was the goofy comedy of The Return of the Living Dead Part II, the “Romeo and Juliet with zombies” love story Return of the Living Dead ///, and a couple sequels nobody paid much attention to, Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis and Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave. The franchise has been dormant for eighteen years – but it may be revived very soon. It has come to our attention that Muck and Kill Her Goats director Steve Wolsh, who also happens to be the CEO of the company Living Dead Media, is developing a reboot of The Return of the Living Dead.

The 1985 zombie horror comedy The Return of the Living Dead (watch it Here) has some awesome poster art, featuring green-skinned zombies that are “back from the dead and ready to party”. Now the folks at Super7, a company that’s described as being “the premier pop-culture design house and producer of lifestyle-oriented collectibles, toys and apparel”, have taken to social media to reveal that they have turned a couple of those poster zombies into ReAction Figures! These figures will be available for purchase sometime this summer, but for now you can take a look at a picture of them at the bottom of this article.

The 1985 zombie horror comedy The Return of the Living Dead (watch it Here) is one of my all-time favorite movies, and every now and then I like to look up the filming locations of my favorites to see what they look like these days. By watching a Sean Clark video on the locations used to bring The Return of the Living Dead to the screen, I learned that the building that stood in for the Uneeda medical supply warehouse in the movie has been converted into a private residence. So I looked up this address – 698 Moulton Avenue in Los Angeles, California – and learned that the Uneeda-building-turned-private-residence is now on the market! The property is listed on Zillow, with plenty of pictures showing off what the place looks like now that it’s a home with three bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a private pool. And if any die hard fan of...

Five years after igniting the original slasher craze, Sean S. Cunningham returned with another harrowing tale of young people in danger. And similar to Friday the 13th, this 1985 movie concerns unlucky teens on the receiving end of someone’s revenge. The only difference here, though, is this threat hits much closer to home. The New Kids draws from another prevalent Hollywood trend — violent street gangs and the communities they terrorize — and tells a unique coming-of-age story.
The New Kids starts with Tom Atkins’ character dragging his two teenage children, Loren (Shannon Presby) and Abby McWilliams, out of bed for an early-morning workout on the army base. He indeed jokes about his son being too tired from “whacking off” and he comments on his daughter’s “sexy little bod,” but after previously playing an abusive father in Creepshow, this role is relatively wholesome for Atkins. Sadly, Loren and Abby’s father...

It’s time for a new episode of the Best Horror Movie You Never Saw video series, and in this one we’re looking back at a movie that most horror fans have probably heard of before. But have you actually seen it? The movie is Children of the Corn (watch it Here) – the 1984 Stephen King adaptation that kicked off a franchise that doesn’t have the greatest reputation. But if you’ve been avoiding the first Children of the Corn because you’ve heard negative things about the series, we’ve put together the video embedded above to tell you why you should give it a chance.

Well, loyal readers, it’s that time again. December 31st, and you know what that means… it’s Val Kilmer’s birthday!
We here at Trailers From Hell would like to commemorate the moment with a look back at perhaps Kilmer’s signature role, the hard-partying sharpshooter Doc Holliday in the classic modern Western Tombstone (1993).
The story of Doc, the Earp brothers and their battle with a vicious gang of outlaws known as the “Cowboys” for the soul of Tombstone, Arizona, including the historic gunfight at the O.K. Corral, has been depicted on screen many times, many ways. But never with the verve and vigor of this picture, a riveting actioner boasting a cast of All-Stars. They even got Robert Mitchum to narrate!

Director Sean S. Cunningham is widely known for the classic 1980 slasher Friday the 13th, a movie we know and love that spawned a whole series of sequels and eventually a remake. Still, he’s done plenty of other things, and one of those things is the 1985 thriller, The New Kids. With a screenplay by Stephen Gyllenhaal who also wrote the story alongside Brian Taggert, The New Kids finally comes out on Blu-ray in the UK thanks to 101 Films and their excellent Black Label.
The story itself follows two American teenagers – Loren (Shannon Presby) and Abby (Lori Loughlin) – who, when their parents are killed in a car accident, move to Florida to live with their Uncle.

Stephen King films can be a mixed bag. For every really good film adaptation (Carrie; The Shining; Misery) there’s a bad one (Maximum Overdrive; Graveyard Shift; The Dark Tower). There are also a whole slew of Stephen King films that fall somewhere in the middle. I think Children of the Corn is one of the films that falls squarely in the middle of the pack.
There are some real strengths in the film. It has some genuine star quality, with soon-to-be action star Linda Hamilton (The Terminator) and TV heartthrob Peter Horton (Thirtysomething) starring as married couple Burt and Vicky, who become stranded in a town filled only with murderous, brainwashed children. The children are led by Isaac (John Franklin), who has a direct connection with an evil entity the children worship called He Who Walks Behind the Rows, and Malachai (Courtney Gains), Isaac’s mean-spirited enforcer.

He’s great at supporting and standing out as one of the more important characters, and he is a memorable character in his own right. It’s hard to believe that the same year George A. Romero released Day of the Dead, the ultra-gory, ultra-bleak conclusion of the trilogy he began with Night of the Living Dead in 1968, writer/director Dan O’Bannon was spinning Romero’s original classic into a totally new direction with The Return of the Living Dead. Whereas Romero’s film is dark and sober, Return is pure punk rock anarchy—a horror comedy that successfully manages to be equal parts horror and comedy while introducing one of the most significant elements into the zombie mythos since Romero first made them flesh-eaters 17 years earlier.
The film’s ingenious premise—which was “meta” before being meta was really a thing—is that the events of the original Night of the Living Dead really did take place and were covered up, with the zombies locked into airtight drums and left in the basement of a medical supply facility.

As a realtor shows a couple around a house we learn the three stories of what have gone on in and around the basement.

Joan Jett is developing a new romantic comedy called Undateable John.
The rocker will executive produce the film under her company Blackheart Films, as well as star in a supporting role.
According to Deadline, the dark romantic film will star Jett as a Venice Beach folk singer who befriends a couple during an AA meeting.
Estella Warren and John Philbin will play the romantic leads, with the cast also including Daryl Hannah, Margaret Cho, Meredith Baxter, Tom Arnold and Shannen Doherty.
Jett last executive produced The Runaways, the film about her all-female punk band in the late '70s. Kristen Stewart played her in the film, which Jett described as surreal.
The rocker also recently released a new album called Unvarnished. She's revealed that she will never retire from music.

Remember a few years back when the anthology The Perfect House was the first film to debut on Facebook? Well, it's now available for download from sites like Amazon and iTunes so distributor Gravitas Ventures has released one of those newfangled audience reaction trailers for it.
The flick stars Jonathan Tiersten, Holly Greene, Andrea Vahl, Monique Parent, Chris Raab, John Philbin, and Felissa Rose. It was co-directed by Kris Hulbert and Randy Kent and written by Hulbert.
Synopsis:
The Perfect House is an anthology inspired by the styles of three of the most famous time periods and sub-genres of horror. Each vignette reveals a dark side to suburban anonymity through three different owners of the same house.
The first vignette is a suspense-driven tale about a dysfunctional family of four riding out a violent storm in a cellar where secrets never stay buried. The middle installment offers a classic 80's slasher story.

Return Of The Living Dead
Guest review by Mark Allen
Stars: Clu Gulager, James Karen, Don Calfa, Thom Mathews, Beverly Randolph, John Philbin, Jewel Shepard, Miguel A. Núñez Jr., Linnea Quigley | Written and Directed by Dan O’Bannon
George A. Romero’s output has, for some, been a little lacklustre of late. His last three films, all zombie features – Land Of The Dead (2005), Diary Of The Dead (2008) and Survival Of The Dead – have been fairly pedestrian undead fare, none of them attaining nearly as much critical kudos as his earlier, genre-defining (even, in the case of Night Of The Living Dead, genre-creating) horror pictures. For those disappointed by this and looking for something more substantial from their z-movies, perhaps cult classic Return Of The Living Dead is what you’re looking for…
Taking initial inspiration (and the title) from Romero, the flick is gruesome and hysterically funny in equal measure.
