- Ray Pohlman was born on July 22, 1930 in Baker Township, Iowa, USA. He was an actor and composer, known for Constantinople (1977), Snoopy Come Home (1972) and The Hoyt Axton Country Western Boogie Woogie Gospel Rock and Roll Show (1975). He was married to Barbara. He died in November 1990.

- Mentored Bill Aken (lead guitarist for Los Nomadas and the only Caucasian in the band, later to record as Zane Ashton) who was the adopted son of Mexican actress Lupe Mayorga and classical guitarist Francisco Mayorga. Pohlman, along with Ozzie Nelson, Les Paul and Mitch Miller, were the ones to send letters of recommendation to The Juilliard School of Music to solicit the admission of Aken as a student.
