This post contains spoilers for "Unfrosted."
As you might expect from its subject matter, Jerry Seinfeld's "Unfrosted," a film about the creation of the Pop-Tart, is an extremely silly comedy. It's also (very loosely) based on the real-world rivalry between Kellogg's and Post, and since the film chronicles the creation of a new product from a major company in the 1960s, the movie also contains a scene in which Don Draper and Roger Sterling from AMC's "Mad Men" drop by to pitch an advertising campaign for what would eventually be named the Pop-Tart. Yes, after dropping the mic in one of the most famous series finales of this century when "Mad Men" ended in 2015, actors Jon Hamm and John Slattery returned to reprise their most memorable roles in a goofy Netflix comedy.

In an eagerly awaited move, Netflix is set to premiere a new comedy that takes audiences back to a pivotal moment in breakfast history. Titled “Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story,” the film marks Jerry Seinfeld’s first foray into movie directing, promising to blend his iconic humor with a slice of 1960s Americana.
Scheduled for release on May 3, 2024, “Unfrosted” is inspired by the real-life corporate rivalry between breakfast giants Kellogg’s and Post. Set against the backdrop of 1963 Michigan, the story unfolds as both companies ambitiously vie to invent a game-changing breakfast pastry, igniting a tale filled with ambition, betrayal, and a sprinkling of sugary satire.
Seinfeld, best known for his eponymous TV sitcom “Seinfeld,” not only directs but has also co-written the screenplay alongside collaborators Spike Feresten, Barry Marder, and Andy Robin. This creative team, having previously contributed to some of “Seinfeld’s” most memorable episodes, brings their sharp wit and...

“What if the Y2K bug was real” feels like such an obvious concept that it’s surprising that it took so long to come up with it. At its best, the teen horror comedy Y2K will make you feel glad that Kyle Mooney and Evan Winter were the first to the punch. Displaying the shaggy looseness of sketch comedy, the film regards its setting with an irony-free attention to detail as it keys itself to the vibes of people who came of age before the new millennium started and would give anything to live it over again, with or without killer robots.
It’s New Year’s Eve 1999, and shy teenage nerd Eli (Jaeden Martell) is more worried about making an impression on his cool-girl crush, Laura (Rachel Zegler), than he is about the approaching millennium and what it might bring. After hitting up the video store with his gregarious best bud,...

Heavy spoilers for "Scott Pilgrim Takes Off" to follow.
Doing adaptations of work that have already been adapted into a beloved piece of media is a near-impossible task. How do you stand apart from the version audiences are so familiar with without trying to compete or tamper with that version? How do you do things differently without being unrecognizable? How do you do things similar enough without feeling like a copy?
The best new adaptations are those that reinvent the original material, those that look at what the more popular adaptation skipped or didn't do, and take the chance to explore different aspects of the source material. It's how the "Watchmen" TV show managed to be both a remake, a prequel, and a sequel to the iconic comic. Or how the live-action "One Piece" managed to tell things the anime didn't get to.

“No One Will Save You,” the tale of a young woman (Kaitlyn Dever) battling extraterrestrial foes, just premiered on Hulu. In many ways it’s the ultimate scary alien invasion movie, throwing in menacing extraterrestrial intruders, abductions, ominously hovering UFOs and even a creepy “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” motif with gooey creatures nestled in your throat. It’s very scary and very good – so good, in fact, that you’ll probably have a hankering for more creepy stories of alien visitation.
To that end, here are five more scary-as-hell alien movies to watch after you finish “No One Will Save You” – and where you can watch them right now.

Like sands through the hourglass, so too pass titles from the catalog of streaming services. Netflix, according to the handy resource website JustWatch, has only 3,600 movies at any given moment, and about 1,800 TV shows. That is, of course, plenty of entertainment and could keep a single person occupied for the better part of two years, but is frustrating when compared to what the average video store had back in the day. For instance, CineFile Video, a store still operating out of Los Angeles, has about 45,000 titles in its library. That's about 8.3 Netflixes worth of movies.
As such, one has to be nimble when finding films to watch on Netflix. Throughout the month of June 2023, some exciting and notable films and TV shows will be taken off the service in order to make room for new shows and movies. However frustrating it may be to have one's home video store possess an ephemeral catalog,...

With “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” playing out its second weekend in global theatrical release, much of the chatter around the film has focused on its baddie, one of the seemingly countless variants of Jonathan Majors’ Kang. The Marvel marketing machine is pitching the would-be conqueror as the next Thanos-level threat, with appearances in this third “Ant-Man” and the first season finale of “Loki” before getting his name in the title in the summer 2025 release “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”
For a look at what makes Jonathan Majors’ Kang a different kind of threat, and a different kind of character from Josh Brolin’s universe-killing Thanos, TheWrap spoke with Jeff Loveness, the screenwriter behind both the recent “Ant-Man” threequel and the upcoming “Avengers” team-up flick.
Loveness spoke about Kang, what he does or doesn’t know about future Kang-centric adventures and why he used the opportunity to give Michelle Pfeiffer an MCU spotlight.

"Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania" may not be a critical darling, but writer Jeff Loveness is riding a wave of ecstasy after writing the Marvel Studios sequel that really let him take the Marvel Cinematic Universe into some of the strangest sci-fi territory the multi-billion dollar franchise has ever seen. With roots that began at "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and eventually took him to the writing staff of "Rick and Morty," Loveness is a comedy writer at heart, but he relished the opportunity to write a classic and tragic character like Kang the Conqueror, with actor Jonathan Majors taking the out-of-time villain's dialogue to the next level.
Following the release of "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania," /Film got the chance to speak with Jeff Loveness about writing the sequel that kicks off Phase 5 of the MCU. Funnily enough, Loveness says he wasn't concerned with setting up the future of the MCU,...

The opening moments showcasing the first-ever instance of bullet time practically rewrote the rules for the entire action genre at the time. The set piece beginning with the "deja vu" moment and ending on Morpheus' (Laurence Fishburne) self-sacrificial capture rightfully owns a sizable piece of pop culture real estate all these years later. Knowing what you want in life is a gift at any age. But figuring it out early like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star Paul Rudd is definitely Tiffany’s or Peloton-level gifting. It’s like the universe handing you a stepladder for those hard-to-reach areas.
Rudd has certainly climbed that ladder, becoming one of the world’s biggest stars. But that’s not to say it has come easy. Looking back on his career thus far, the 53-year-old Marvel actor credits his success to a plan he made when he was 16.
Acting was never a passion for ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ star Paul Rudd
Born in New Jersey to British parents, Rudd spent his early years on the east coast before moving to Kansas City at 10 years old (he remains a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the city’s famous barbeque to this day).

For a new Super Bowl ad for cash-back shopping platform Rakuten, Alicia Silverstone slipped into a yellow tartan skirt to reprise her star-making turn in Amy Heckerling’s iconic 1995 comedy Clueless. But when it comes to the big game, it turns out Silverstone is just as adorably oblivious as Cher Horowitz.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever watched the Super Bowl in my life,” the actress tells THR by phone from Amsterdam, where she’s shooting a movie. “If I didn’t have this commercial for Rakuten, I wouldn’t know when the Super Bowl was.”
No doubt countless Clueless fans are glad she got that sorted out so they can see her opposite Elisa Donovan’s Amber in the well-known (and much quoted) debate scene. “It was nothing short of surreal,” Donovan told THR of getting the gang back together for the spot that was developed by Rakuten’s in-house marketing team,...

There is no one correct way to direct a movie. Most filmmakers nowadays shoot loads of coverage -- i.e. all of the footage necessary to effectively cut the movie together in post-production. This approach gives directors a variety of options in the edit to shape each scene to their liking. Other filmmakers know precisely what they want each day they show up on set, and shoot only what they need to piece together the scene as they've imagined it (typically via storyboard).
Edgar Wright falls fairly solidly into the latter category. He's a master stylist who frames and cuts with purpose. His editing rhythms are uniquely, invigoratingly musical; from the Queen-scored set piece at the Winchester in "Shaun of the Dead" to the percussive "Tequila" gunfight in "Baby Driver," he has most of the movie mapped out in his mind. He's not fanatically anti-coverage like one of his filmmaking heroes,...

Before truly hitting it big with the "Spider-Man" trilogy, Sam Raimi took his first shot at comic book films with "Darkman." An original and gritty take on classic superhero tropes, it's largely considered one of the director's most underrated films, as well as a precursor to the darker superhero films of the 2010s. However, what makes "Darkman" unique from, say, the work of Zack Snyder, is that it also had that campy and distinctly Raimi style embedded throughout. If you're familiar with the director's work in pretty much any capacity, you'll know that his visual style and how his scenes are shot are part of the movie-watching experience he wants you to have.
Unfortunately, that style doesn't always jive with big studios. One case in point was, believe it or not, "Darkman." In an oral history published by The Hollywood Reporter, cinematographer Bill Pope said that he was hired because...

Director Lana Wachowski and her crew were 17 days into the shoot on “The Matrix Resurrections” when they had to shut down due to the pandemic; when they resumed production several months later, frequent Wachowski cinematographer John Toll opted not to return due to health issues in his family. Toll’s departure created an opportunity for camera operator Daniele Massaccesi, who stepped into the director of photography role — his first on a big-budget studio production — and helped create a new visual grammar for one of the most famous franchises in film history.
“Resurrections,” the fourth “Matrix” movie and the first in almost 20 years, represents the latest step in Wachowski’s evolution toward a more improvisational approach to filmmaking, an evolution in which Massaccesi played a key role. “I did a few days on ‘Speed Racer,’ and then ‘Cloud Atlas,’ which was probably the first time Lana and Lilly [Wachowski] shot on location,...

“Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” Sony’s first Marvel property to be released since the pandemic, starts with previews Thursday evening. It is expected, at a minimum, to be the sixth domestic opener this year over $40 million, with expectations that $50 million or higher is possible.
The “Venom” sequel launches a critical month for box office recovery ahead of “No Time to Die” (United Artists/October 8), “Dune” (Warner Bros./October 22) and other entries that are key tests of whether sustained improvement has taken hold. Each film’s individual returns will have its own specific measures for success.
What sets “Carnage” apart is that it is a rare case this year of a possible apples-to-apples comparison. The first “Venom” opened in 2018 on exactly the same weekend (to a then-October record $80 million). Comparisons to previous Marvel sequels also provide guidance for measuring the results.
No two dates are exactly the same. “Carnage” can...

The latest offering from Marvel Studios is Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings. Despite the oppressiveness of the title, this film is one of the breeziest and remarkably entertaining martial-arts laden superhero films you may ever have the pleasure of seeing (and actually enjoying).
The story follows its title character, Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), as he confronts the demons of his past after he is forced to reenter the dark underbelly of the Ten Rings organization. Shang-Chi is joined in his adventures by his longtime friend, Katy (Awkwafina), who manages to play her character quite well off of, and without being overshadowed by, the considerable martial arts skills of the lead actor.
Simply put, there is a lot going on in this film and it is quite difficult to absorb it all in one viewing. But, somehow, director Destin Daniel Cretton – along with fellow co-writers, David Callaham and Andrew Lanham...

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is one of the fresh faces joining “The Matrix” in Lana Wachowski’s upcoming fourth entry, and he told The Hollywood Reporter he was starstruck on set when Keanu Reeves arrived for their first scene together. Reeves is reprising his iconic role of Neo in “The Matrix 4,” while original star Carrie-Anne Moss is also back as Trinity. Both characters appeared to die at the end of “The Matrix Revolutions,” so their resurrections for “The Matrix 4″ will most likely drive the plot. No specifics on the storyline have been revealed, nor Emmy winner Abdul-Mateen II’s role in the motion picture.
“I remember Keanu and his first line,” the actor told THR. “I looked up, and there was Keanu, and I said, ‘Oh shit, I’m really in “The Matrix,”‘ It was just Keanu in that voice. And the technology that Lana incorporated and the filmmaking, camera...

It’s not what you’re used to seeing in a Marvel Studios release: bright neon light casting Simu Liu and his on screen opponent in neon silhouette; a dazzling array of forested trees acting as both venue and enraptured audience for a fight scene in the woods; just even an occasional emphasis on shadows, period. Yet all these things and more are visible in the new Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings trailer.
Could this be a signal that the Phase 4 era of the MCU will be a more visually dynamic one? We can hope.

Jessica Henwick is no stranger to witnessing big budget productions thanks to her roles as Nymeria Sand on “Game of Thrones,” X-Wing pilot Jess Pava in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” and Colleen Wing in a trio of Netflix-Marvel comic book series, but the making of “The Matrix 4” seems to be blowing the actress’ mind like never before. Henwick is currently in Berlin filming “The Matrix” sequel and told ComicBook that she’s seeing industry-changing crafts work happening on set.
“There are definitely moments on set where Yahya [Abdul-Mateen II] and I look at each other and we just go, ‘Matrix 4.’ Those pinch me moments,” Henwick said. “Yeah. There are plenty of hit Broadway productions that are aching to be translated to film. Conversely, there are tons of shows that really have no need for a cinematic adaptation. It’s the ones that fall in between which present a paradox for creatives. Adapt it right and you could have something special. Do it in more of a flawed way and folks will struggle to understand what made he production a success in the first place. The Boys in the Band is one such example of a Broadway translation caught in no man’s land. Strong acting mixes a muddled filmmaking execution to form a flawed yet sporadically compelling new Netflix release. Some may love it. Some may hate it. Most will be left somewhere in between. The movie is an adaptation of the Broadway smash of the same name (as well as the prior motion picture). It’s a drama,...

Does anyone ever get the feeling that those making the movies put too much pressure on themselves due to the perceived pressure they apparently feel from the fans? This is what it tends to sound like when cinematographer Bill Pope, who worked on The Matrix, decided to blame a method described by Stanley Kubrick that the Wachowski’s decided to utilize. The method is simply to wear actors out until they give an honest and natural performance. In other words, wear people down to such a level that anything they do is going to be completely natural and won’t be due

It can’t be understated how hugely influential the Wachowski’s The Matrix was. Many a film after it tried (and often failed) to imitate its look, its tone, its groundbreaking visual effects. And the man responsible for the stylish look of the 1999 sci-fi film was cinematographer Bill Pope, who would go on to shoot the film’s much-maligned sequels The […]

Stanley Kubrick is one of the most acclaimed and iconic filmmakers in the history of cinema. Period. That’s almost undeniable. But that doesn’t mean that everything he did (or has inspired) is respected and beloved. Such as the way that Kubrick’s methods inspired the Wachowskis during the creation of the two ‘Matrix’ sequels. According to cinematographer Bill Pope, working on those films was almost enough for him to want to dig up Kubrick just to kill him.

When it first hit theaters in 1999, audiences had never seen anything like The Matrix before. A complete breath of fresh air for blockbuster cinema, the sci-fi action epic instantly became one of the most influential movies released at the turn of the millennium, spawning countless pale imitations and finding itself parodied on a regular basis.
Back-to-back sequels Reloaded and Revolutions were two of the most highly-anticipated movies in history when they were released six months apart in 2003, but neither installment managed to recapture the lightning in the bottle that made the original such a success. Audiences were so disappointed that box office takings for the trilogy-closing chapter dropped by over $300 million as the Wachowskis’ weaknesses as storytellers came to the fore in the muddled, disjointed and massively underwhelming Revolutions.

While a large majority of The Matrix fans would put the first movie squarely at the top of the trilogy with no bother from its sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions do still have their cheerleaders. Cinematographer Bill Pope found himself dragging his pompoms after a gruelling back-to-back shoot on both, though, describing it as “mind numbing and soul numbing.”
Pope, who had previously worked with The Matrix directors The Wachowskis on 1996’s critically acclaimed Bound before climbing aboard the pair’s groundbreaking sci-fi action trilogy, revealed the exhaustive nature of the Reloaded and Revolutions shoot in a new interview with Roger Deakins on the Team Deakins podcast (via Indiewire).
“Everything that was good about the first experience was not good about the last two,” Pope said. “We weren’t free anymore. People were looking at you. There was a lot of pressure. In my heart, I didn’t like them.

“The Matrix 4” is reuniting writer-director Lana Wachowski with stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss, but one creative from the original movies sitting the new film out is cinematographer Bill Pope. The Wachowski sisters first worked with Pope on “Bound” before teaming up with him for “The Matrix.” Their work together on the 1999 action film proved groundbreaking (see: the invention of bullet time), but the highs of collaborating on “The Matrix” were not matched while filming the two sequels, “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Matrix Revolutions.” During an interview with Roger Deakins on this week’s “Team Deakins” podcast, Pope said shooting “The Matrix” sequels were “mind numbing and soul numbing.”
“Everything that was good about the first experience was not good about the last two,” Pope said. “We weren’t free anymore. People were looking at you. There was a lot of pressure. In my heart, I didn’t like them.

This August will mark the ten-year anniversary of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World releasing in theaters. Directed by Edgar Wright, the beloved movie is a tribute to not only comic book and video game fans, but pop culture enthusiasts, too.
The film also features a who’s who of actors. Everyone remembers Michael Cera in the titular role, but the deep cast also includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, a very young pre-Captain Marvel Brie Larson, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Brandon Routh, Alison Pill, Succession’s Kieran Culkin and Aubrey Plaza.
During a recent virtual watch party, Wright teased that the film will be re-released in theaters as part of a partnership with Dolby Cinema. When that might happen is still unknown, but here’s what he had to share:

Though it bombed at the box office and prospects of an immediate sequel were dashed, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World has retained a cult following, with its hyper-stylized blend of comic book visuals and pop culture references proving popular with an audience that missed it the first time round. Thus, for a film that didn’t make any money, interest in it remains unusually high.
With the 10 year anniversary of its release approaching, Michael Cera was asked in a recent interview with ComicBook.com whether he’d be interested in returning for a Scott Pilgrim 2 – if it ever got made – and here’s what he shared:

Three-time Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Rob Legato has translated virtual production into a live-action methodology that serves as recognizable filmmaking tools for such directors as James Cameron, Martin Scorsese, and Jon Favreau. That’s because Legato, who’s also a cinematographer, has emphasized photographic realism in VFX.
After successfully morphing live-action footage with VFX on “Titanic,” Legato tackled virtual production more forcefully on Scorsese’s Howard Hughes biopic, “The Aviator.” He had to photograph a plane crash for the first time, so he ingeniously used animation software and a hand-operated pan-and-tilt wheel to photograph a plane crash live in real-time.
Then Legato took a bold step with his “director-centric” workflow for “Avatar,” which enabled Cameron to make his revolutionary sci-fi hybrid. With a customized hand-held virtual camera, Legato gave Cameron a powerful tool for camera layout on a motion capture stage.
Legato refined the virtual production process further with Scorsese on “Hugo.

On the surface, now seems like the absolute perfect time to reboot Charlie’s Angels. Hollywood is always hoping to find the next big franchise, female led vehicles are in demand, and it’s all the better when handed to a director who happens not to be a man. And yet, this 2019 incarnation of Charlie’s Angels, coming to us from actress turned filmmaker Elizabeth Banks, feels stuck in the past. Aside from a few amusingly sly remarks about gender equality, much of this movie is the sort of generic action outing that would have been attempted throughout the last few decades. There are fun moments, but the vast majority of the flick is thoroughly disposable. The film is an action adventure, based on the television series and two cinematic outings of the same name. Once again, we’re introduced to operatives of the Townsend Agency, known as Angels, working...

“I think women can do anything,” an undercover Kristen Stewart purrs in the very first line of “Charlie’s Angels,” thereby setting the tone — and the priority — for Elizabeth Banks’ rousing remake of this long-running franchise.
Gone are the Angels dancing in their underwear, as McG directed Cameron Diaz in the first film. No more ladies doting on an aging Bosley, as they did in every episode of the TV show. Angels 3.0 are doing it for themselves.
Well, not themselves exactly, since Bosley is still their boss. But in Banks’ world, the name is really more of a rank, “like lieutenant,” her character explains. There are many Bosleys now, including ones played by Banks and (an underused) Djimon Hounsou, as well as the Og embodied by Patrick Stewart.

I’m personally happy to see that the story will explore the Ten Rings and that we will get to see the real Mandarin in action. Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton has been talking about his McU project.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is an essential cog in Marvel's Phase 4 McU plans. Slated for a 2021 release date, the standalone film will introduce a new superhero to the franchise, and also reveal the real Mandarin, a villain who was seemingly played by Ben Kingsley in Shane Black's divisive McU threequel, Iron Man 3.
Short Term 12 director Destin Daniel Crettin was selected to helm Shang-Chi by Marvel earlier this year. Crettin was a surprising - but welcome - choice for the job, and no one was more surprised than Crettin himself when he heard he was in.
"I didn’t think I was going to get it, so that helps you feel not as terrified," Crettin told Collider. "The process of pitching is like anything.

After months of speculation and rumors, it’s official — “The Matrix 4” is a go, with Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss returning to star, and Lana Wachowski (one half of the Wachowski directing duo and co-creator of the whole damn thing) stepping behind the camera. But even though it appears that Warner Bros. has been working to get the whole gang back together for this new ‘Matrix’ film, there is going to be one major change, as cinematographer Bill Pope will not be returning to the franchise.

One of most awaited for years manga adaptations came true in 2019, with Robert Rodriguez heading the project produced by James Cameron and Jon Landau, in an effort that resulted in huge commercial success, with “Alita” becoming the ninth highest-grossing film of 2019.
As usually, and despite my urge to do so differently since the original was one of the first anime titles I ever watched, I will examine the film as a standalone work and not in comparison with the 1993 Ova.
The story is based in Yukito Kishiro’s manga, takes place in 2563, three hundred years after Earth has been devastated by a catastrophic interplanetary war known as “The Fall”, and revolves around the titular character, whose disembodied cyborg body is discovered by Dr Ido, as the film begins. Ido gives the body of his deceased daughter to the cyborg and even names her after her. Alita seems...

Visual spectacle is a wonderful thing. Creating a new world right before our very eyes? At its best, it can literally take you away. When that happens, it’s a transformative cinematic experience. When that doesn’t happen, however, it’s a completely hollow one. Such is the case with Alita: Battle Angel, which looks great but never quite engages you in its story. Hitting theaters this week, it’s a massively budgeted would be franchise starter. Some of the ingredients are there, but the soup just doesn’t taste right. Though hardly the disaster some were speculating it could have been, this is still a mostly unsatisfying experience. The film is a science fiction epic, based on the graphic novel series Gunnm by Yukito Kishiro. Set in the future, it’s a tale of a female cyborg (Rosa Salazar), once left for deactivation, who is revived by Dr. Dyson...

In 1999, two years after crafting what would be the highest grossing film ever made for over a decade in Titanic, James Cameron was brought to the attention of a Japanese Manga Battle Angel Alita from his young seven-year-old daughter. Engulfed by such a rich and vast property Cameron promised his daughter that one day he would bring the tale of Alita to life on the big screen. Twenty years later Cameron indeed kept his promise. Opting out of the directors’ chair to co-write and co-produce the Robert Rodriquez directed Alita: Battle Angel, but oh boy should it have been left as an empty promise sitting on his desk all these years.

‘The Kid Who Would Be King’ Film Review: Joe Cornish Turns Arthurian Legend Into ’80s-Style Kid Romp
In Joe Cornish’s follow-up to his sci-fi breakout hit “Attack the Block,” the sophomore director mines the rich mythical realm of the legend of King Arthur. But rather than pick up the story in medieval times, “The Kid Who Would Be King” takes place in the modern world, one where our heroes wear school uniforms and, at first, don’t know how to wield swords or ride horses.
“The Kid Who Would Be King” is a charming story of fantasy, pop-culture references and myth-making. It’s a movie with the playful camaraderie of “Goonies” and a few elements from ’80s sagas — like “Labyrinth,” “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial,” “The NeverEnding Story” and “Legend” — where young people go on character-building adventures. “The Kid Who Would Be King” even uses a synth-heavy score from Electric Wave Bureau to give the movie that old-school sheen.

The Best Looking 4K Hdr Movies, Including ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again’
Now that we’re a couple years into the 4K and Hdr era, the format has really started to come into its own. Movie studios have firmly committed to taking full advantage of everything that Ultra High Definition and High Dynamic Range colors have to offer — and a little assist from Apple, Netflix, Amazon and Vudu make 4K content readily available and affordable.
So if you’re taking the plunge into this beautiful new world of colors you’ve never seen on a TV before, these movies are absolute must-haves. Note: I’m not saying all these movies are good — your tastes are probably different from mine — but I am saying they look spectacular in 4K.
“Alien: Covenant” — Fox doesn’t make use of Dolby Vision at all on any of its releases — opting instead for the less dynamic HDR10 format exclusively — so its 4K releases tend to stand out...

Though I strongly advise not holding your breath when it comes to waiting for a fourth entry into the franchise, us fans of The Matrix Trilogy at least have something pretty cool that we can look forward to in the near future. As it turns out, the trinity of movies (pun intended) that changed the game in so many ways will soon be getting the 4K Ultra HD treatment.
Granted, the first flick did arrive on that very format a few months back, but the real story here is that the rest will follow suit on October 30th. To be more specific, you can buy the trilogy as a complete set via the $70.99 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, or purchase either The Matrix Reloaded or The Matrix Revolutions for $29.99 individually. But if the digital format’s your thing, you’ll be able to indulge slightly earlier on October 2nd. Either way,...
