“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough spent Wednesday morning unloading on Breitbart News chairman and former White House political strategist Steve Bannon — now campaigning in Alabama for embattled Senate candidate Roy Moore. Scarborough, a child of the South, said Bannon’s showboating for Moore in the Heart of Dixie suggested he thought voters there were “stupid.” “What strikes me the most is just how stupid both Donald Trump and Steve Bannon think people in Alabama are,” said Scarborough. “Those people in the audience, they think that they’re stupid.” Also Read: Roy Moore Spokesperson Jane Porter: What About 'Non-Accusers'? Roy Moore campaign spokesperson Jane Porter offered a novel new defense of the multiple charges of sexual misconduct swirling around her candidate, suggesting that plenty of women had not been harassed by the judge. She called these women “non-accusers.” “We need to make it clear that there’s a group of non-accusers who have not accused the judge of any sexual misconduct or anything illegal,” Porter told Poppy Harlow on the set of CNN’s “New Day.” Porter continued by disparaging Leigh Corfman, the woman who said the judge molested her when she was 14 years old. When Warner Bros announced they were making a new Tarzan film, the first question among fans was, “Do we really need another Tarzan movie?” The character has had more interpretations and reboots than just about any other pop culture figure from the 20th Century and it felt that his relevance has passed. The answer, surprisingly then, is that yes, we needed this one.
The Legend of Tarzan, out now from Warner Home Entertainment, is very faithful to Edgar Rice Burroughs’ creation, honoring the time-honored story of the infant raised by apes, who just happened to be an English lord. The cleverness in the script from Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow) and Adam Cozad (Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit) which picks up eight years later, after Lord John Greystoke (Alexander Skarsgård) has returned to England with Jane Porter (Margot Robbie) as his bride. They also steep the story in events that were contemporary at the time,...

Margot Robbie, who is soaring from her performance as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, will take to the dizzying heights as the diminutive trapeze artist Lillian Leitzel in the film adaptation of Dean N Jensen’s 2013 book Queen Of The Air.
Letizel performed for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus in the early 20th century. The swinging star was known for a signature move where she would dislocate her shoulder as she turned. She was the circus’ biggest star. The upcoming film from Warner Bros will focus on Leitzel’s tragic love affair with fellow circus performer Alfredo Codona. Leitzel and Codona both died within a few years of falling in love. Leitze died when her rigging snapped during a live performance in 1931. Codona died in a murder-suicide in 1937.

Warner and David Yates’ The Legend of Tarzan is one of two summer blockbusters to feature Aussie actress Margot Robbie in a prominent role, though the second tees up a part that is about as far removed from Jane Porter as one can imagine.
That is, of course, Harley Quinn, the iconic DC nutjob who stands as part of David Ayer’s starry ensemble for Suicide Squad. Throughout production, Robbie has revelled in the darker tenets of the Clown Princess of Crime – an alter-ego brought to the fore by The Joker himself. To say that the twosome enjoy a dysfunctional relationship may read as a colossal understatement, but that’s something that Margot Robbie touches base on in the latest issue of Vanity Fair.

David Yates’ The Legend of Tarzan does an effective job bringing the iconic King of the Jungle back to the big screen in a way that stays true to the classic books. With beautiful cinematography and a surprisingly strong lead performance by Alexander Skarsgard, The Legend of Tarzan delivers an entertaining adaptation of literature’s first super hero. However, will this film resonate with modern audiences who are unfamiliar with the character?
The character of Tarzan was created by Edgar Rice Burroughs over 100 years ago (having debuted in All Stories Weekly magazine in 1912) and has been adapted over 100 times internationally, on film and TV. The majority of these projects have ranged from mediocre-to-poor, with only a few actual gems in the bunch. Only a small handful of them touched upon the spirit of the Burroughs books. Long before Suicide Squad roars onto the scene in early August, much of Warner Bros.’ attention will be drawn to The Legend of Tarzan, the studio’s lavish reboot that introduces Alexander Skarsgård as the titular King of the Apes.
And sure enough, nipping at the heels of two moody posters for David Yates’ blockbuster, Warner has premiered the Legend of Tarzan IMAX trailer, serving up three minutes of primordial action that not only tees up Skarsgård’s origins story – returning to his rightful home of Congo after failing to adopt to a gentrified life as John Clayton – but also sheds more light on the key supporting players, including Margot Robbie’s Jane Porter and Christoph Waltz’s decietful Belgian, Captain Leon Rom.

Ever since the first photo of Alexander Skarsgård and his washboard abs hit the web, there was no doubting that the Swede looked the part as Warner Bros.’ all-new King of the Apes. And now, with exactly one month until the film’s theatrical bow in North America, the IMAX poster for The Legend of Tarzan drives that point home and then some.
Stylized in a similar vein to last week’s moody one-sheet, which featured both Skarsgård’s musclebound hero and Margot Robbie’s Jane Porter deep within the Congo jungle, the poster below finds Skarsgård standing shoulder to shoulder with his primitive ancestors.
Upon returning to his rightful home, Tarzan and his glowering allies will be uniting against Christoph Waltz’s scheming Belgian, Captain Leon Rom, who wants nothing more than to exploit the Congo forest for corporate interests. Also on board for that adventure are Djimon Hounsou...

If Jon Favreau spun out a lavish, CG-laden blockbuster based on Rudyard Kipling’s collective work earlier this year with The Jungle Book, Harry Potter director David Yates will be gunning for similar success with The Legend of Tarzan, a modern retelling of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic tale that places Alexander Skarsgård as king of the swingers.
Releasing in the thick of summer blockbuster season, at least on paper Legend of Tarzan toes the line between a bona fide hit and a commercial flop, and one need only look at the scathing reactions to Warcraft: The Beginning for evidence of a VFX-heavy tentpole bombing with critics.
Nevertheless, in re-introducing Tarzan to a modern audience, Yates and Warner Bros. have welcomed the industrious Margot Robbie as Jane Porter, love interest to Skarsgård’s character who follows her spouse’s primitive calling all the way back to the Congo jungle.

Before returning to J.K. Rowling’s fantastical world of witchcraft and wizardry with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, David Yates will steer Edgar Rice Burroughs’ title hero onto the silver screen once more with the CG-laden reboot, The Legend of Tarzan.
Placing Alexander Skarsgård in the iconic role of John Clayton, Yates’ take on the source material shakes things up in the sense that Tarzan, after growing up in the thick of the Congo jungle, attempts to adopt to modern life in Victorian London alongside his doting wife, Jane Porter (Margot Robbie).
But the lure of the jungle proves to strong for Skarsgård’s King of the Apes. Toss in Christoph Waltz’s scheming Belgian, Captain Leon Rom, and you have an old-school tale of Tarzan returning to fight for his home – his real home – and ultimately protect those friends in danger.

There's no doubt about it: Alexander Skarsgård is the King of the Jungle. Wearing khaki shorts in lieu of a loincloth, the 39-year-old actor's eight-pack abs are on full display in the first two stills from Warner Bros.' movie The Legend of Tarzan, in theaters July 6. The shirtless Swede poses solo in one picture and with his co-star Margot Robbie, who plays Jane Porter, in the other picture. For some reason, she has her back to Skarsgård. She must be either unaware he's there or too nervous to look him in the eye, because those abs are insane. Director David Yates was impressed by the actor's 6-foot-4 frame. "Tarzan needs muscles, but it's more of a leaner, longer, more vertical...

Sarah Butler, you in danger, girl. At least when D.B. Sweeney comes for you with a silenced pistol and an entire night to kill you. Which is apparently the premise of director Malek Akkad’s “Free Fall.” But wait! Our gal apparently has a little secret. She might also be a kung fu master. Or at least, a pretty competent ass kicker herself. Check out the form on those kicks! A top executive is killed in an apparent suicide leap from the skyscraper headquarters of Gault Capital. But when the dead man’s loyal protégé Jane Porter (Butler) uncovers some startling criminal evidence, the corporation calls in their “crisis manager” Frank (Sweeney) to silence her forever. Eluding her pursuer, Jane soon finds herself trapped in an elevator between floors on a holiday weekend in a very empty building. With their cat and mouse game seemingly at check-mate, Jane must summon...

The first set photos are out from "Harry Potter" series director David Yates' new big-budget film take on "Tarzan". Title star Alexander Skarsgard is not to be seen in the new shots, but three of the key supporting players are - Margot Robbie, Christoph Waltz and Casper Crump.
"Wolf of Wall Street" star Robbie plays Jane Porter, Waltz plays Captain Rom (effectively the villain), and Crump is Captain Kerchover. Shooting has been taking place this week in Berkshire, England for several scenes set onboard a steam paddleboat.

David Yates' next project is Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (more details on that can be found by clicking here), but he's currently hard at work on Tarzan starring Alexander Skarsgard as the titular character. Margot Robbie has been cast as Jane Porter, and thanks to JustJared, we have a first look at the actress on set in Berkshire, England. Also spotted were Caper Crump and Christoph Waltz, but the full gallery of photos can be found by clicking on the link below. The cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson and Djimon Hounsou. Anchor Bay Entertainment will be releasing the directorial debut from Malek Akkad, titled Free Fall, onto DVD & Blu-ray on October 28th. I know very little about this film, other than what was just made available with the press release that just went out. Malek Akkad, if you are unfamiliar, is the man that produces all things Halloween as his birth right. That doesn’t mean he will be a great director, but here’s hoping, right? Check out the press release below, and click here to pre-order your copy.

Deadline is reporting that actor Djimon Hounsou is joining David Yates 'Tarzan' as 'Chief Mbonga', a character that has appeared in several of Edgar Rice's original stories. But we will be seeing Djimon soon in Marvel's 'Guardians of The Galaxy', which is bound to be this summer's blockbuster. Alexander Skarsgård (HBO’s “True Blood”) has been set to star as the man who was orphaned as a baby and raised in the jungle, later to return to the urban jungle of London. The film also stars Oscar® nominee Samuel L. Jackson (“Pulp Fiction”); Margot Robbie (“The Wolf of Wall Street”), as Jane Porter, who becomes the love of Tarzan’s life; and two-time Academy Award® winner Christoph Waltz (“Inglourious Basterds,” “Django Unchained”). While the film world fervently awaits the live-action adaptation of Tarzan, set for a 2016 release, in the meantime comes yet another reimagining of the classic tale, with director Reinhard Klooss marking the fictional creation’s centenary year with an animated offering. While certainly enjoyable, it lacks any true individuality, causing us to sincerely hope that David Yates’ impending endeavour shows a little more ingenuity.
Kellan Lutz, renowned primarily for his performance as Emmett Cullen in the Twilight franchise, voices the eponymous lead, who is left abandoned in the jungle when victim of a helicopter crash as a child, which killed both of his parents. Years later, now one of the most agile creatures in the jungle, he makes human contact for the first time – with the adventurer Jane Porter (Spencer Locke), as the pair come up...

★★★☆☆With 2014 marking the 100th anniversary of author Edgar Rice Burroughs' most famous creation, Tarzan the Ape Man, it seemed inevitable that someone would make a new film for the character. The 19th time the story has appeared on the big screen, Reinhard Klooss' Tarzan (2013) begins with an accident in which the parents of young J.J. (Craig Garner) - heir to the Greystoke Energies business empire - are killed in the African jungle, leaving the boy alone in the wild. Found and taken care of by a female gorilla and her band, J.J. grows to become the man known only as Tarzan (Kellan Lutz). Years later, Jane Porter (Spencer Locke) meets Tarzan when travelling in the jungle with her father, an employee of Greystoke.

After casting has been slowly revealed, Warner Bros. announced their new adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic jungle hero Tarzan will hit theaters on July 1st, 2016 in 3D. The summer holiday release indicates the studio's confidence in their new property which features "True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgard as the title hero and The Wolf of Wall Street leading lady Margot Robbie as his female counterpart Jane Porter. There's not confirmed much in the vein of plot details, but the press release says it will follow the man orphaned as a baby and raised in the jungle as he returns to the urban jungle of London. Previously, we'd heard the film from Harry Potter franchise director David Yates would follow Tarzan as The Queen asks him to investigate some conflict in the Congo, where he teams with ex-mercenary George Washington Williams to save the area from a warlord who controls a massive diamond mine.

I've mentioned it several times before, but today Warner Bros. officially announced a new adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs's "Tarzan" with Alexander Skarsgard in the title role, The Wolf of Wall Street's Margot Robbie as Jane Porter, Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz. David Yates (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Part 2 and others) will direct Tarzan for a July 1, 2016 release in 3D. Previous reports have listed Stephen Sommers and Stuart Beattie (I, Frankenstein) as screenwriters, but Warners' official press release didn't make mention of any screenwriters so maybe that's still up for debate. The film will center on John Clayton III (Skarsgard), known around the world as the famous "ape man" Tarzan. Years after he's re-assimilated into London society, he's asked by Queen Victoria to investigate the goings-on in the Congo. Tarzan teams with an ex-mercenary named George Washington Williams (Jackson) to save the Congo...

"True Blood's" Alexander Skarsgård will don the loincloth and utter the immortal line "Me Tarzan," while "The Wolf of Wall Street" breakout star Margot Robbie will play Jane Porter (as in "You Jane"). The oft-filmed story finds an orphaned infant being raised by animals in the jungle. After Tarzan is discovered by a group of explorers, he's brought to London to be introduced to the modern "civilization." It will also reunite "Django Unchained" stars Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson. Summer 2016 is shaping up to be just as crowded...

Fans of The Wolf of Wall Street and Pan Am apologists are undoubtedly excited to hear that we’ll be getting much more Margot Robbie in our lives very soon. The 23-year-old Aussie, now best known for portraying Jordan Belfort’s fun wife, is racking up the roles left and right during Wolf‘s Oscar run after getting just recognition for her fantastic performance. While Robbie is already filming Focus, a “con artist comedy” costarring Will Smith, and starring alongside Michelle Williams in Suite Francaise, she’s got two other films coming down the pipeline that will serve to show off her range of acting chops in a couple different genres: David Yates‘ Tarzan and Craig Zobel‘s Z for Zachariah. Tarzan — no, not that weird CGI German 3D one starring Kellan Lutz, the other one — has sent Robbie to the jungles as their new Jane, opposite Alexander Skarsgard as the titular apeman who may or may...
