National award winning actor Prakash Raj who played baddie Jaykant Shikre in Singham will be reunited with Ajay Devgn in Golmaal Again.
He came on-board in Rohit Shetty’s fourth instalment of comedy hit Golmaal last month and will begin shooting in March in Mumbai. He admitted how he and Rohit have been wanting to collaborate since a long time and it couldn’t work out because Rohit didn’t have a suitable role for Prakash to play.
Finally, he got notified about this character in Golmaal Again so he instantly flew down to Mumbai and did a narration with the dialogue writers Sajid-Farhad. Prakash’s character is an entertaining one with shades of grey according to him and he also thinks the script in itself is hilarious.
Prakash states that Ajay and he share a comfort level and having a national award winning star like him elevates one’s performance naturally.

With the highly-acclaimed Madras Cafe opening to very encouraging responses, the scenario is perfect for another political thriller coming Friday.
And no, Satyagraha is not a sequel to Prakash Jha's Raajneeti. "I was only trying to say that the politics of the two films has a kind of continuity. Where the politics of Raajneeti ends the politics of Satyagraha takes over. Otherwise there is no similarity between the two films. The characters are very different from one another," says Prakash Jha.
While Ajay Devgn, Manoj Bajpayee and Arjun Rampal have worked in a number of films with Prakash, and the Big B has done the anti-reservation film Aarakshan before, it is a first for Prakash with Kareena Kapoor.
Says the director, "There were talks about other leading ladies opposite Ajay. But I was adamant on Kareena. I feel she is at a stage in her career where she needs...

Talking about the film, Mr Bachchan said in a recent interview, “(It is) basically a story between a father and a son — a father who has lost his son, and a son who is in search of a father. The character that I play is very moralistic… very peaceful. He wants whatever he wants to achieve in a peaceful manner. He propagates that if you want something, if you are dissatisfied with something, then the order of the day is to do something peacefully.”
About the message of the film Ajay said, “This film is about personal stories and how four of us get together and get into a revolution. The bottom line is that the key message of the film is that you...

When Chinni Prakash started shooting the title track of Bol Bachchan with Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan at Mumbai's Film City Studios last week, he was pleasantly surprised to see Bachchan's passion for his work. "The last time I had choreographed dance moves for him, it was for 'Jumma Chumma De De' for Hum. At that time he would rehearse ten times and watch me twenty times before he faced the camera and I was surprised to see that he still follows the same rule. Watching him do so many rehearsals, Ajay and Abhishek had no choice but to follow suit!" laughed Prakash, adding that the star would be on the sets by eleven in the morning and had to be told to go to his van for lunch, and when the shoot was over had to be gently reminded that it was time to go home. Prakash Jha's next film is about the Naxalite movement. But it is not a remake of K.V. Anand's Tamil political film Ko. Exasperated beyond belief, Prakash says, "I don't know where this rumour started. And now the newspapers are reporting it. My new film is about the Naxal movement. But my film has got absolutely nothing to do with Ko. It's an original subject. In fact I'm away from Mumbai right now writing the film." In Prakash Jha's Chakravyuha, which the director starts shooting in a month, Abhishek Bachchan is cast as a Naxalite. It's the biggest challenge of the young actor's career and one for which he has started preparing. Jha has recommended Naxal literature to Abhishek. This is probably the first film since Mani Ratnam's Guru for which Abhishek has undertaken extensive research. The shooting will take place in Prakash's patent location Bhopal,...

Ajay Devgn is annoyed with Prakash Jha for the way he has marketed Raajneeti, according to Mid Day. The 41-year-old actor, who has been close friends with Jha for more than ten years, was apparently upset because the director has been promoting the film as a romantic movie rather than a political drama. "Raajneeti is a powerful political dramatic thriller where the entire cast has good roles. But the actor feels the director has been only showing the romantic angle between Ranbir [Kapoor] and Katrina [Kaif] to exploit the couple's chemistry and off-screen dosti," a source close to Devgn revealed. "Ajay told Prakash in no uncertain terms that he felt that Rajneeti was being promoted as a romantic film when it was essentially a political drama. The actor didn't want the audience to feel cheated into thinking it was a romantic (more)...

Say hello to Bollywood's new item girl, the lovely Barkha Bisht, who can be seen next month in Prakash Jha's Raajneeti, dancing in a sizzling item number.
Bisht is no stranger to cameras -- she's an established television actress who plays Dhani/Devi Bhairavi in the Star Plus serial, Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai. She made her name playing Anupama and Tia in Doli Saja Ke.
But now the 30-year-old, who's married, incidentally, is ready for the big screen.
In a recent interview with an Indian daily, Bisht reportedly said Prakash had tapped her for the role thanks to her ability to dance and emote equally well.
As for being a married item dancer, Bisht sees no problem with it, because she's performed in a 'classy' dance, and done nothing vulgar.
Unfortunately, the hot dance number might be a one-time-only deal. Bisht is reportedly aiming to become a Bollywood actress.

Chalo Colombo. Suddenly Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpai's jam-packed 7-city global premiere got more crowded. A last-minute premiere at a Bollywood awards function to be held in Colombo (Iifa) has been added to the team's bulging premiere schedule. And Prakash Jha is in a panic. He needs record a patriotic song before Raajneeti goes on its global journey. This is easier said than done. Gulzar's words and Wayne Sharpe's composition are not as easy to coalesce as the poet and A R Rahman's association over 'Jai Ho'. The idea was to find another global catch-phrase to equal the easy reach of 'Jai Ho'. Gulzar's tryst with 'destination' persists. While his 'Jai Ho' is still reverberating across the globe, the poet par excellence has now conceived another patriotic catch- phrase which would hopefully reverberate across the globe with as much intensity as the earlier number.

I have worked in various fields like designing for built environment, theatre, art exhibition, installations, photography, events, and gradually but progressively increased my canvas.
I believe that experimenting with different spaces, media and forms is full of surprises and fulfilling at different levels be they objects, structures, forms, fabrics or colours. Each one is dynamic, transforming space through time, in which an observer observes and discovers...

It seems there is more to Prakash Jha's claim that Vidhu Vinod Chopra removed the trailer of Jha's Raajneeti than meets the eye. While Prakash claims Vidhu Vinod felt threatened by and insecure enough about the trailer of Raajneeti to have it removed from 3 Idiots, the Chairman of Reliance Big Pictures (who are the distributors of 3 Idiots) Amit Khanna, says they had never committed to Jha to show the trailer. "Whom in our company has Prakash Jha spoken to about the Raajneeti trailer going into the prints of 3 Idiots? He hasn't spoken to me. And I am not aware of anyone at Reliance whom he has spoken to. How can there be any commitment on the screening of a trailer? It all depends on the paid advertisements that individual theatres have. We certainly made no such commitment to Prakash Jha." Adds Khanna, "We've released 3 Idiots with a record number of prints,...

Ranbir Kapoor plays an Nri forced to return home to take over the family business (in this case, politics). Sounds familiar? Abhishek Bachchan played a similar role in Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar. And both characters are inspired by Al Pacino's Don Corleone in Francis Coppola's The Godfather. Ranbir of course plays a mixture of Rajiv Gandhi and Don Corleone in Rajneeti. And as coincidence would have it, both Abhishek and Ranbir had Katrina as their co-star, but with a difference. In Sarkar, Katrina's anglicized voice had to be dubbed although she played an Nri and could've easily used her accented voice for the character. In Rajneeti, Katrina gives long speeches in shudh Hindi all in her own voice. Katrina Kaif's two-minute speech in front of a 10,000-strong attentive crowd at a public rally in Bhopal for Rajneeti, has whetted Ranbir Kapoor's appetite for getting right the...
