Lieutenant-Colonel Alexander Vindman, who gave key impeachment testimony has been removed from his job and escorted from the White House, his lawyer said on Friday.
“Today, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman was escorted out of the White House where he has dutifully served his country and his President. He does so having spoken publicly once, and only pursuant to a subpoena from the United States Congress,” Vindman’s lawyer, David Pressman said in a statement.
According to CNN, Vindman’s twin brother Yevgeny, a National Security Council attorney, was also fired.

An attorney for Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman fired off a letter to Fox News on Wednesday, asking the network to retract an October 28 segment of The Ingraham Angle in which a guest suggested that he engaged in espionage.
Vindman’s attorney, David Pressman of Boies Schiller Flexner, said in the letter that the segment “created a false factual basis to render sinister otherwise innocuous facts.” He wrote that the segment “sparked a torrent of republications and copycat false charges,” as President Donald Trump retweeted innuendo that he had dual loyalties.
Vindman was among those who listened to Trump’s July 25 phone call with the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. On Tuesday, Vindman testified at the impeachment inquiry that he “couldn’t believe what I was hearing” as Trump pressed Zelensky to investigate the Bidens.

Innovative producer Steven Bochco died Sunday at the age of 74 after a long battle with leukemia. He was the creative force behind influential TV dramas like “Hill Street Blues,” “NYPD Blue,” and “L.A. Law.”
Longtime friends and colleagues such as Steven Spielberg hailed Bochco’s long run and legacy in the industry.
“Steve was a friend and a colleague starting with the first episode of ‘Columbo’ that he wrote and I directed,” Spielberg said in a statement. “We have supported and inspired each other ever since and through many deep mutual friendships we have stayed connected for 47 years. I will miss Steve terribly.”
Other entertainment biz figures took to social media to pay tribute.
“He was an amazing talent,” wrote Mark Altman, co-executive producer of “The Librarians.” “He changed television forever.”
Heartbroken over the death of the great #StevenBochco. He was an amazing talent. His autobiography is a must-read. He changed television forever.

Elton John has been receiving congratulatory notes from around Twitter-Wood this week, thanks to the birth of his son Zachary. Neil Patrick Harris even wants to pencil in some play dates as soon as possible.
In other tweets, Olivia Wilde graciously accepted some congrats from Chris Kattan, while John Cusack attempted to clear up some confusion about his travels among his friends. And I wouldn't recommend doing to your iPhone what Penn Jillette put his through, but he seems sold on the product's ability to withstand a two-story fall. Find out why -- and who wants to get married in a tribute to Hugh Hefner -- after the jump.

Twitter-Wood experienced a small Christmas miracle today as an outpouring of photography and song revealed that a double rainbow can still grab more attention than Lindsay Lohan in our feed. There were enough posts to fill a special-edition Tw coffee-table book with images from those who saw it... and laments from those were out of town and missed it. But even that book wouldn't be able to capture "Twilight" actor Justin Chon's musical celebration of this natural spectacle.
Other highlights of the last 24 hours included Steve Martin's continuing jury duty adventure, as well as Kevin Smith's triumphant declaration that he's finished his sound mix for "Red State." You'll find those retweets and Christmas-related shock from Anna Kendrick after the jump.

Gary Coleman's death stirred up posts throughout Twitter-Wood this afternoon, both with positive remembrances and commentary on the lifelong issues that childhood actors can face. Ashton Kutcher, Shannon Elizabeth, Tom Arnold and Eliza Dushku counted themselves among Coleman's fans, and many others acknowledged their appreciation for his work as Arnold on "Diff'rent Strokes."
John Stamos touched on the more serious issues in Coleman's in life in his Twitter note, and Ken Jeong and Jon Hurwitz both left simpler notes. Click on past the jump and you can find out who else posted about Coleman. Feel free to leave your own responses and memories in the comment section.
@TomArnold Rip Gary Coleman. He made my teen years funnier! Now I hope people will stop bullying him.

Did you watch "Lost" on Tuesday night? If not, stop reading. Seriously. Spoilers ahead.
Ok. If you're still here, you either watched the revealing episode, "Across the Sea," or you don't care if major plot points are spoiled. To summarize, it was entirely focused on the origin of Jacob and his nameless friend, the Man in Black, on the mysterious Island at the center of the series.
It was revealed that the two are fraternal twins. Their pregnant mother washed up ashore and was killed by a native (Allison Janney) after delivering them. It was also revealed that the Island's protectors — first the mysterious native, later Jacob himself — are charged with keeping safe a cave housing a bright,...

Twitter-Wood name dropping was in full effect today, with Tom Felton running into Robert Pattinson, Simon Pegg hanging out with Christopher Lee and David Pressman having drinks with Sam Worthington. Even the loners were tweeting about other people, though, as Greg Mottola shared his first memory of seeing the late Alex Chilton, and Neil Patrick Harris clarified Hank Azaria's role as Gargamel in "The Smufs."
Check out what everyone was saying about each other after the jump, where you'll also find Frankie Muniz's "American Idol" frustrations, Jimmy Fallon's case for canonizing Samuel L. Jackson and an unsettling shot from Kevin Nealon taken on the set of his new Adam Sandler movie. It's all in Twitter-Wood for March 18th, 2010.

Between Alex Meraz and Jodelle Ferland, someone may need to put on a gallery showing of "Twilight" actor artwork. While Ferland was busy drawing Taylor Lautner, Meraz was hard at work with his paints, and he TwitPic'd a shot of his project today.
Elsewhere in Twitter-Wood, birthdays were the hot thing today. Kim Kardashian revealed what she did for Reggie Bush in honor of his special day, and birthday boy Justin Bieber pretty much took over trending with the birthday wishes he commanded. Scott Brown's win in the race for Ted Kennedy's U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts drew varying reactions in Twitter-Wood today. Rainn Wilson gave the election results a thumbs down. Candace Cameron gave them a thumbs up. And David Pressman thinks that Scott Brown is sexy.
In non-political controversial discussion, the recent rainstorms hitting Los Angeles have provoked predictable commentary on how residents there have no idea how to drive. Since rain in L.A. is so rare, many drivers have problems staying in control on wet Hollywood pavement. Nathan Fillon says Stan Lee is not one of them, however. Check out those tweets after the jump where you can also find out what John Lithgow had to say about his "Dexter" co-star Michael C. Hall and who Chris Rock mistook Elizabeth Banks for last night. Veteran's Day brought no shortage of veteran appreciation today in Twitter-Wood, prompting thanks and memories from across the board, as well as a personal note from "Twilight" actor Gil Birmingham.
Meanwhile, Jason Schwartzman's on his way to the NYC debut of "Fantastic Mr. Fox," which as a Wes Anderson follower, I am anxious to see myself this weekend. Another new release, "Precious," really got a hold of Tyrese Gibson, who said the film's been keeping him awake. Check out their thoughts along with pictures from Peter Facinelli and John Stamos and a Henry Winkler autograph to be jealous of after the jump. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for November 11, 2009.
