- Art Director
Mary Prlain is from Northern California but lives in New York City. She
is a card carrying, Union affiliated professional as a set decorator.
She began her career as an actor which eventually led to
programs at The American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco: first
taking classes then later an internship in the property
department for the main stage productions. She also attended the
programs at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and
attended the University of Montana in Missoula where she learned a
majority of her stagecraft. Mary has traveled to most Europoean
countries and has lived in Eastern Europe. Her eye for
style, design and basic stuff has helped her collaborate with designers to create
the sets for commercials, films and music videos. She is most
influenced by the work of master Russian director Andrei Tarkovsky as well as 1960s American TV. Though completely ridiculous at times, the process of creating a false reality for characters and the collaboration involved, Mary finds rewarding; eventually.
