This article contains spoilers for Reservation Dogs season 3 episode 10.
With the premiere of its final episode, FX’s Reservation Dogs has officially been sent off that good way. The season 3 finale, titled “Dig,” is filled with indelible moments that neatly wrap up three superb seasons and prepare the titular Rez Dogs for a glorious future to come.
Amid all that excitement, however, is one little in-joke that the less attentive viewer may have missed. As the town of Okern, Oklahoma gathers in the local church to pay their respects to departed Old Man Fixico (Richard Ray Whitman), several well-wishers assemble around the medicine man’s casket. One of those mourners is local constable/lighthorseman Big (Zahn McClarnon).
“Thank you for changing my life, brother,” a tearful Big says to Fixico before placing a hardcover book in his coffin.

Writer and creator Sterlin Harjo promised that the Season 3 finale of “Reservation Dogs” would serve as the perfect ending to the FX series on Hulu. It’s a bold claim in a culture that often sees fans ripping finales and their writers apart. But if the first few episodes of Season 3 are any indication, it’s more than likely our beloved Rez Dogs will get as close to perfect as possible.
From the first four episodes of the final season available for review, it’s clear the writers know exactly what the viewers want: Surreal spirits and quirky side characters guiding and challenging the young crew. Storytelling that manages to weave together the silly and absurd with some of the harsh realities Native populations have had to face over generations (the atrocities and aftermath of Indian boarding schools get called out on more than one occasion this season). And of course,...

“Reservation Dogs” is nearing the end of its journey, but Sterlin Harjo is just getting started. The showrunner and co-creator of the Hulu/FX hit recently announced that Season 3, which begins this week, will mark the end of a story that has been a gamechanger for Native representation in popular culture. The sweet and poignant show chronicles a group of disillusioned teens in rural Oklahoma overcoming the death of their close friend while navigating the traditions and socioeconomic challenges of their local community.
The show’s deadpan tone blend of Indigenous history and mythology with the universal malaise of American youth culture has turned it into a rare representational win that resonates on a larger scale. While it has been snubbed by the Emmys, “Reservation Dogs” won a Peabody Award and landed on many lists as the best show of the year two years in a row.

The Rez Dogs return home for a final confrontation of the soul. FX released the official Reservation Dogs Season 3 trailer on Thursday, teasing the last season of the hit show created by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi. The series focuses on Elora Danan (Devery Jacobs), Bear Smallhill (D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai), Willie Jack (Paulina Alexis), and Cheese (Lane Factor), four Indigenous teens in rural Oklahoma looking for purpose and opportunity in a world that’s often against them.
After spending two seasons gathering funds to travel to California in honor of their dead friend, Daniel (Dalton Cramer), the crew accomplished their mission but needed clarification about their next steps. Well, except for Bear, who breaks from the group to embark on a soul-searching journey alongside the spirit of a long-passed warrior (Dallas Goldtooth) and a conspiracy theorist named Maximus (Graham Greene). FX has released its first look at the final season of “Reservation Dogs.” Season 3’s trailer may mark the end of an era for Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi’s dry comedy, but based on the video, this last season also marks the start of something new for its central characters.
Since its premiere in 2021, “Reservation Dogs” has always been about the liminal space between childhood and adulthood. The series started with Bear (D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai) forgoing his friends’ plan to ditch the reservation after his persistent Spirit (Dallas Goldtooth) persuaded him to improve his home rather than abandon it. This first trailer hints that the ending of that personal growth is right around the corner.
“The path to healing is often found in opportunities to help others,” Spirit cryptically tells Bear.
Last season ended with these friends stranded in California. Season 3 will pick up as they figure out a way back home.

The Rez Dogs are heading back home for their final hurrah. FX has released the official trailer for the third and final season of “Reservation Dogs,” the acclaimed FX on Hulu dramedy series.
Created by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi, with Harjo serving as the series showrunner, “Reservation Dogs” focuses on four teenagers — Elora (Devery Jacobs), Bear (D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai), Cheese (Lane Factor), and Willie Jack (Paulina Alexis) — who were born and raised in a small Indigenous reservation in Oklahoma. The first two seasons of the show focused on the group’s quest to raise money to travel to California, a long-time dream of their dead friend, Daniel (Dalton Cramer). The Season 2 finale saw the crew finally succeed in their goal, making it to the beaches of Los Angeles and saying an emotional goodbye to Daniel.
Their move proves to be temporary, however, as the trailer for Season 3 opens with the foursome traveling back home.

Deep Woods, the first feature from writer/director Steve Laughlin, begins in quite a different location, the opulent chrome and glass offices of the architectural firm owned by Ty Ellsworth. Ty has, seemingly out of the blue, got in touch with his college buddy Nick and suggested a hunting trip. Ty wants to “experience nature before it’s paved over” and since Nick is both Native American and a game warden, who better to go with?
For the film’s first half hour, Laughlin gives us a contrast between the world Ty knows and the rural, backwoods area Nick lives in. A tribal dance, talk of wendigos, a run-in with some loggers at a bar and of course, warnings from Sheriff Hadden to stay on the trails once they’re in the woods.

As a vampire without American identification, you could say Francis (Noah Segan) is an illegal immigrant regardless of the fact he’s lived in the country longer than anyone else currently alive with a legitimate birth certificate. Why he chooses to drive through red states in his vintage Barracuda while confusing Alex Jones-loving, conspiracy-theorizing yokels with Yiddish is therefore a mystery. This is the solitary bachelor life he’s chosen, though. And perhaps that part of the country is simply better suited for a nomadic lifestyle demanding a sense of secrecy considering the trail of bodies Francis inevitably leaves in his wake (animal meat makes him bloated). There’s also no shortage of racist criminals no one will miss for him to kill. Happiness is an unnecessary luxury. Survival is paramount.

"What do you want from me?!" "Everything!!" Shudder has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror comedy titled Blood Relatives, about a vampire on a road trip with his estranged daughter. This marks the feature directorial debut of actor Noah Segan, best known as "Kid Blue", appearing quite often in Rian Johnson films and plenty others. A vampire's loner lifestyle is thrown into disarray when a teenager shows up claiming to be his daughter, and she's got the fangs to prove it – on a road trip across America's blacktops, they decide how to sink their teeth into family life. Blood Relatives stars Noah Segan and Victoria Moroles, with Akasha Villalobos, C.L. Simpson, Ammie Masterson, Tracie Thoms, Jon Proudstar, & Josh Ruben. It looks like some low budget, bloody dark comedy, vampire fun. Enjoy. ›››

"He's a sensitive dog, and you iwll have to become sensitive, too. Lean into that connection." Nova Vento Ent. has unveiled an official trailer for an indie true story film titled The Year of the Dog, which is not a documentary but a feature based on real events. The film is made by Rob Grabow, who sold his condo and put everything into making this. He spent years in Alaska, working around and meeting people, including a dogsled musher who was having a difficult journey with alcoholism and addiction, who credited his sobriety in large part to one of his dogs; a high-spirited Alaskan husky. This is that story turned into a film. A loner alcoholic finds a path to recovery when he meets a stray dog with a unique talent. The film stars Michael Spears, Rob Grabow, Jon Proudstar, Alyssa Groenig, and Jeff Medley. Awww! Of course this looks...

Exclusive: Buffalo 8 has set the digital release of Duality for October 21, Ryan Dowling’s documentary that was granted unprecedented access to an all-star roster of graffiti and street artists.
Once brushed aside – even deemed criminal – graffiti has since paved the way for many successful, credible artists today. With Duality, these street artists – some for the first time, some maintaining a strict code of anonymity – discuss their journeys from “tagging” to becoming respected icons in the cities they serve with pieces that are awe-inspiring in scope, size and complexity. They have collectively proven that their genre of art is something that can influence culture, evoke emotion, inspire, and cultivate community. Their rise has not been without challenges and criticism, but today they are admired by throngs of fans and oftentimes the art they produce brings in revenue for household brands and worldwide corporations. No longer relegated to back alleys, their works...

The best thing about FX’s Reservation Dogs is that depending on the episode, any of the show’s four stars — Devery Jacobs, D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai, Lane Factor, Paulina Alexis — could be front and center, as each of the young, previously unknown actors has already proven their ability to anchor installments with creators Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi’s distinctive blend of quirky humor and earnest heart.
The worst thing about FX’s Reservation Dogs, at least when approaching the show through an awards-obsessed prism, is that it’s a pure ensemble, one uninterested in inviting easy “lead”/”supporting” classifications and one without a single breakout performance; there are four.
One week, the spotlight is on Woon-a-Tai as Bear, whose search for a positive male role model leads him to comic interactions with an amiably uninspiring spirit guide or to sadly pin his...

Reservation Dogs takes on the legend of Tall Man in its latest episode. Following a few subtle references to the Bigfoot-like creature throughout the series, we get the first look at Tall Man in a flash-forward scene. At the beginning of the episode, which is set a year prior, Willie Jack's (Paulina Alexis) father, Leon (Jon Proudstar), comes face to face with the creature as he puts out deer feed. Similar to the Bigfoot legend, the creature is shown to be hairy and tall with bright red eyes that stare at Leon.
So, what exactly is Tall Man? The legend is said to have originated from Dakota and Lakota people in what's now the state of South Dakota. According to legend, the creature is between 12 and 15 feet tall, is covered in hair, and has red eyes, much like the creature shown on the show. Just as the creature looms in...

There aren’t many shows that even have the theoretical possibility of getting me more interested in them than The Gifted. The Marvel Universe on television has mostly worked out for me, but more importantly, I want to know what Matt Nix does with the show, and I’m a pretty big fan of Amy Acker.
I’m not exactly sure how you keep an “on the run” story going forever, but it should be worth finding out where this can twist around its own gimmick. Previous looks at the show have already set things up pretty well, and if nothing else it looks like this is going to be a fun exploration of characters that goes a bit darker, much like the Netflix series we’ve seen so far.
You now have the chance to get a serious introduction with the first six minutes of the show so definitely check that out above,...

There's a brand new X-Men series coming - but who are The Gifted, exactly?
The Gifted is Fox's second adaptation bringing the X-Men universe to live action TV. Legion was very well made – visually terrific, clever and stylish, but it wasn’t too X-Men-centric. The Gifted? Though doubtlessly a more conventional take on Marvel's merry mutants, The Gifted could be the X-Men show fans have been waiting patiently for since at least the mid-90s.
As if to prove it, the show hasn't even aired yet and it already promises to be rammed with familiar names and faces. If you want to get up to speed on who (and what) The Gifted are, here's everything you need to know about the characters who have already been announced.

That’s not too far off now and in case you haven’t been keeping up, the Marvel drama largely centres on a family comprised of two vanilla parents – played here by Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker – who find their lives upended upon discovering that their two children, Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) and Andy (Percy Hynes White), have been imbued with mind-bending mutant abilities. With New Mutants, Deadpool 2, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix dominating headlines left, right, and center, you’d be forgiven for letting The Gifted slip off your radar.
After the rather excellent Legion, it’s the latest small-screen X-Men drama to come out of Fox, and we now know when Bryan Singer and Matt Nix’s family-oriented series will stage its premiere: Monday, October 2nd. Deadline has the scoop, confirming that The Gifted is one of three series premieres lining the network’s fall slate – Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville (September 10th) and paranormal romp Ghosted (October 1st) being the other two – and is expected to premiere just after Lucifer at 9 pm.
It’s all part of Fox’s plan to shield The Gifted from The Voice (NBC) and CBS’ The Big Bang Theory, which continues to be ratings powerhouse – so much so, in fact, that it’s spawned a spinoff of its own in the form of Young Sheldon.

Getting back to The Gifted, though, and we know that Fox’s Marvel drama largely centres on a family comprised of two vanilla parents – played here by Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker – who find their lives upended upon discovering that their two children, Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) and Andy (Percy Hynes White), have been imbued with mind-bending mutant abilities. Co-existence has never been easy, and after years spent exploring the taut relationship between humans and mutant on the big screen, it’ll be fascinating to watch that strife unfold through long-form storytelling.
Also starring Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Coby, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford and John Proudstar, The Gifted airs on Monday, October 2nd.

Earlier this year, FX and Marvel worked together to bring the incredibly unique series Legion to FX. The series followed David Haller, who may very well be the most powerful mutant known to man. The show isn’t your typical superhero show, and if you were looking for something less abstract and artsy, you may have been disappointed. However, if you are one of those people, then this new mutant-centric series from Fox, The Gifted, may be more up your alley.
Last week, we got a first look at the upcoming network show (the pilot of which is directed by longtime X-Men helmer Bryan Singer), and today, they released a full trailer, and we have to say, it’s not half bad.
