Mid season, Homeland can be pretty dark, I get that. But Homeland Season 6 Episode 7 went a teeny bit overboard.
I like drama as much as the next guy, but when you start throwing in gratuitously cringe-worthy details about characters' back-stories, that's when I start to roll my eyes.
Still, it's been a strong season, and this episode was no exception, so I'll try to overlook some of its warts, for now.
Kick ‘Em While They’re Down
Holy crap, could things get any more depressing for Carrie and Quinn?
Last week on Homeland Season 6 Episode 6, when Carrie lost her allies, I speculated that she had reached her low-point for the season.
Well, clearly she hadn’t.
This week – in an agonizing series of scenes, each one bleaker than the one before – Carrie lost custody of her child.
Judge: Can you explain what you were doing in your daughter’s room,...

Life is difficult for Fillory's royals.
And with Quentin and Alice gone, it's up to Eliot and Margo to keep the kingdom going on The Magicians Season 2 Episode 6 "The Cock Barrens."
Judging by the photos, it doesn't look like things are progressing well for either of them.
Especially once a new royal appears on the scene.
Back on Earth, Quentin's got a day job. But that doesn't stop him from making time to catch up with a surprising person.
Scroll through the photos below and leave your best guesses for what's happening next.
Need to catch up? You can watch The Magicians online anytime.
1. Plotting from the Throne - The Magicians Season 2 Episode 6 Is there anything better than when Eliot and Margo share one of these looks? The besties know each other so well they don't have to speak. Can't wait to find out what they're planning! 2. Queen Down! - The Magicians Season 2 Episode 6 Uh-oh!

There were many shades of grey filling Blue Bloods Season 7 Episode 6 as we saw different perspectives on whistleblowing, abuse of power, and even child pornography.
The case that was the most black and white belonged to Danny and Baez.
I found it remarkably dismaying that Shawn thought he could keep Rebecca as his girlfriend if he told her that he wasn't just a bartender, but a drug dealer.
We never really got to know Rebecca, but was she that mercenary? I’d guess not if she planned to tell Mr. Quinn and then go to the police.
Frank mentioned that smart can be overrated, but not in Shawn’s case. If he had been smarter maybe he wouldn’t have underestimated Rebecca so badly or put so much trust in his murderous, drug dealing partner.
The other cases were far more problematic because everyone came at them from a different perspective.

Previously on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D… well, let’s just say trust is a little hard to come by these days. S.H.I.E.L.D. has fallen. The team itself remains wary of whom they can actually count on, thanks to the events of last week. Hydra, which has been quietly infiltrating the organization for far longer than anyone can really comprehend (pawning a little background from Zola and Winter Soldier here) has finally prevailed. And just when we thought we had everyone figured out, Ward — Ward, of all people! — has gone to the dark side.
Or has he?...

Last week on 24: Ethan got in some serious trouble for allowing Jack to go free. Mr. Bauer has supposedly racked up a body count of two thus far: Ryan Burnett and Senator Mayer, both of whom were actually killed by Quinn. Jack’s only responsible for one death, as Mr. Quinn (of the para-military organization, Starkwood) was made a point of (hee, geddit?) by Jack’s Redneck Car Key. Olivia’s still bitchy, and Walker’s in custody for working with Jack. Jon…...
