- According to the book 'The Fugitive Recaptured', Raisch was so identified as a villain during The Fugitive (1963) TV series that he was once picked up by two real-life Los Angeles Police officers who mistakenly thought he was 'wanted for something.' Raisch had to convince them that he was merely an actor.
- Lost part of his right arm (two inches above the elbow) in 1945 after he was badly burned fighting a shipboard fire while serving in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
- Had a bit part in Spartacus (1960) as a Roman soldier who gets his right arm (a fake prosthetic) chopped off by Kirk Douglas during a battle scene, but the sequence was cut from the original print because the producers felt it was too gory. However, the shot appears in the restored print.
