- Was the first to portray Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz" on film. She had already been portrayed by an actress named Anna Laughlin in the 1902 stage musical based on the story. The stage musical had nothing to do with the famous The Wizard of Oz (1939), which was based on the book's main plot but condensed the story format.
- She was the daughter of George Remus, who is thought to be the model for Jay Gatsby in the Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. After serving two years for violations of the Volstead Act, he shot his wife to death and got off on an insanity plea.
