"Hit and Run" producers Kim Waltrip and Jim Casey are developing an adaptation of Luanne Rice's 2002 novel "Dream Country" for their Kim and Jim Productions company says Variety.
The story centers on a couple's blissful marriage that's cut short when their three-year old son disappears while accompanying his father on a roundup in Wyoming.
Thirteen years later, the son's twin sister travels to Wyoming to discover her family's past. Rice is co-adapting the family drama with Jayce Bartok and shooting kicks off in February.

I am being totally serious when I say that I need these on my nails Yesterday. They are even better than the Royal Wedding condoms! (Side note: what if one of those condoms broke? Would you be obligated to name your kid Kate or Will?) CBS is getting in the holiday spirit early with a Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation of Silver Bells, to star Anne Heche. Based on the novel by best-selling author Luanne Rice, Silver Bells centers on widow Catherine Tierney (Heche), a corporate librarian in Manhattan who takes a teenage boy under her wing after he gets in an argument with his Christmas tree farmer father while they sell trees in New York and runs away. When the father returns to Manhattan the next holiday season to sell his trees and look for his son, he crosses paths with Catherine.

Lifetime Television is heading to warmer locales with Beach Girls, the cable network's first limited series. The six-hour drama series, inspired by the best-selling novel by Luanne Rice, revolves around three teenage girls who summer together each year in a sleepy beach town and pledge their eternal friendship to one another. But as the years go by, the girls grow apart, until the death of one of them brings her widower and daughter back to the town to reconnect with the other two women. "This is the equivalent of a summer read at the beach -- a big, fun guilty pleasure," said Rick Haskins, executive vp and general manager at Lifetime.
