Sneak Peek the satirical horror thriller "Iron Sky: The Coming Race", directed by Timo Vuorensola, as the sequel to Vuorensola's "Iron Sky" (2012), inspired by the 'Vril' conspiracy theory, opening internationally, January 16, 2019 :
"...20 years after a nuclear war, Earth has become an inhospitable place. Survivors rally together on a former 'Third Reich' moon base. Over the years a large human colony has formed, with its own fascist government and religions, including the 'Jobists', a cult that formed around the teachings of 'Steve Jobs' and their leader (Tom Green).
"But the aging base is deteriorating and due to the damage the moon received in the nuclear war, its time is running out. 'Obi Washington' (Lara Rossi), the daughter of 'Renate Richter' (Julia Dietze), discovers there may be other survivors hidden in an underground city at the center of the earth.

Udo Kier has worked with the likes of Lars Von Trier, Gus Van Sant, and Rob Zombie. He’s portrayed Dracula (and assorted other vamps), Hitler, and Jekyll and is still going strong after over three decades of acting, his latest role being in Nazis-on-the-moon horror-comedy Iron Sky.
Some would say it’s his piercing blue eyes and thick accent that cement Kier’s presence as deliciously memorable regardless of the size of the part. I would also say it's his unique presence, the way he moves with such elegance and a dash of old world, unearthly sexuality and a twinkle of humor.
This time around we find Kier on the dark side of the moon playing Nazi leader Wolfgang Kortzfleisch. The movie takes place in 2018, in a world with a political landscape much like our own, filled with propaganda, global infighting, and a race for new fuel. Little does...

I guess even schlocky sci-fi counts as sci-fi, right? Anyways, here’s the latest U.S. trailer for director Timo Vuorensola’s “Iron Sky”, which dares to posit the question, “What would happen if Nazis, who have been living on the moon for the last 70 years, decided to launch a new invasion of Earth?” Apparently a Sarah Palin clone saves the day, though I’m sure that won’t prevent the film from mocking her to death in the process anyway. In the last moments of World War II, a secret Nazi space program evaded destruction by fleeing to the Dark Side of the Moon. During 70 years of utter secrecy, the Nazis construct a gigantic space fortress with a massive armada of flying saucers…and now they’re coming back to claim Earth for their own. We've seen about four trailers for the sci-fi moon Nazi invasion film Iron Sky. This movie sounded really cool at first, I loved the initial concept, and liked the first couple of teaser trailers. I'm not sure if the comedy aspect they've thrown into it will work. I hoped the film would have more of a serious tone, like what we saw in the first couple of teaser trailers. There are movie situations like this where serious is funnier than comedy. I hope the movie turns out to be good though! I'm rooting for it.

Iron Sky is ludicrous, trashy, and downright offensive at times...and it joyfully delights in all these things to hilarious effect. For a taste of the Finnish film’s tone, one need only consult its tag-line, one of the greatest ever committed to a poster: “In 1945, Nazis went to the moon; in 2018, they’re coming back.”
If every gag in the film was as funny as that, we would have a masterpiece on our hands and it would be a tragedy that it’s only in cinemas for a week. As things stand though, it’s very funny but flawed. Likely available on DVD by the time you read this, it’s more than worth checking out, not least because the dodgy CGI and acting won’t seem quite so preposterous when downsized to a TV set.
So the year is 2018. Sarah Palin is in the Whitehouse and to boost...

Roll up, roll, up! For one day only (Wed) you can check out the Finnish/German/Australian sci-fi comedy Iron Sky on limited cinema screens before it’s unceremoniously dumped onto DVD the following week. The question remains, is the film is actually worth trekking out to the big screen to catch during that tiny release window?
The year is 2018 and two Us astronauts touch down on the moon. Unbeknownst to them, they are far from alone as the dark side of the moon is actually home to a legion of Nazis who fled the earth at the end of World War II to set up shop there. One of the surviving astronauts, a model (?) by the name of Washington, is taken captive and driven to a huge swastika–shaped mega fortress. Inside, he is introduced to a giant battleship which the Nazi finally manage to power through the use of Washington’s smartphone.

Brought to life by Finnish Director Timo Vuorensola and producer Tero Kaukomaa, the cinematic phenomenon that is - the sci-fi, action, comedy mash-up - Iron Sky is finally coming to UK screens....But not for long! The window of opportunity for some Nazis from the moon action is pretty tiny, because for one day only (Wednesday 23rd May) Iron Sky will be shown at cinemas across the country, and then released on DVD on Monday 28th May. A confirmed list of the initial 15 theatres screening Iron Sky will be released next week, but in the mean time, if you want to see the film near home, get in touch with your local cinema to let them know there’s a demand. If you're excited to see see moon Nazis invade earth, here's the first four minutes of the sci-fi film Iron Sky. The clip shows a lunar expedition that surprisingly comes across a massive Nazi base on the moon. From what I've seen in previous trailer, the movie looks like a lot of fun. The film recently screened at SXSW, and unfortunately the reviews I've seen haven't been kind. As outrageous and crazy this film looks like it could be, according to some of the reviews I've read, it doesn't take it to the level of lunacy that it should. I'll still give the film a chance, as the premise is so ridiculous.
Here's the story breakdown:
Towards the end of World War II the Nazi scientists made a significant breakthrough in anti-gravity. From a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late ‘45 to found...

The promise of Iron Sky is a great and wondrous one. It’s Moon Nazis. Moon Nazis, people. Swirl it around in your mind for a moment. Those two words alone should put enough fuel in the car to get it to the theater, but with a concept like a Fourth Reich hiding on the dark side of the moon, the movie can only take one of two paths. Sadly, all too sadly, it takes a wrong turn and ends up riding the highway all the way into the city dump at the end of it. Stupid, cheap and aiming above its Iq, this movie is the bad kind of garbage. It goes without saying that there’s a good kind. Some of the best spoof movies have fallen under that category. Like all tones, there are right and wrong ways to handle them, and although director Timo Vuorensola‘s long-awaited sci-fi explosion of bizarre alternate history...

Here’s the pitch for Iron Sky: Nazis attack from the moon. It’s a ridiculous idea for a movie, but one that grabbed enough attention to get the independent sci-fi war comedy’s $7.5 million budget partially crowd-funded. Now backers get to see the fruits of their investments in the teaser trailer for the film, which will premiere next month at the Berlin Film Festival.
Starring beloved cult film actor Udo Kier — who has specialized in playing nefarious German characters since his creepy turn as Dr. Frankenstein in Andy Warhol’s Frankenstein – Iron Sky’s premise involves gravity-defying Nazis attacking Earth from a base hidden on the dark side of the moon. From the looks of it, the movie shares the same campy, humorous, tongue-in-cheek nature as Fdr: American Badass, another warped selection based loosely (very loosely) on history.

Germany isn't all that keen on movies that could possible promote Nazi sensibility. While the tongue-in-cheek sci-fi war movie Iron Sky, in which Nazis attack Earth from a secret base housed on the dark side of the moon, can't possibly be construed as a pro-Nazi movie, it is still a bit remarkable that the film will premiere next month at the Berlin Film Festival. Motion posters are the latest cool gimmick in online film advertising and we've got one for you here that you might not have seen before. It is for an independent science fiction film, Iron Sky, that yours truly has been tracking for some time.
Iron Sky is being produced in Finland by Energia Productions. Energia was started by the makers of the Star Wreck series of Star Trek spoofs. The most recent such film, Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning, is reckoned to be Finland's most successful film because it has been legally downloaded from the Internet more than 8 million times. A special edition was recently released on DVD in Britain.
Energia's new film is a departure from the Star Wreck series. In the plot of Iron Sky it is 2018 and a group of Nazis that escaped to the Moon at the end of the Second World War are planning a triumphant return.

Oh happy day. Cannes 2009 is about the begin and the crew behind the Finnish film, Iron Sky, which all of you should know about by now, are over there in full swing ready to promote their follow up to the wildly successful Star Wreck. Today they’ve announced the rounding off of their German cast and released three new images today. Two are of cast members, the Über Hot Julia Dietze in the role of “Renate Richter” [I see they’re still using my Fourth Reich got a little hotter bit] and Götz Otto in the role of “Klaus Adler” and the third is the motion poster you see before your eyes. But where is the image of Udo Kier? Where or where is our Udo? The hotness of Julia aside we sang with glee when we read that Udo Kier has also signed on as part of the cast in the role of “Wolfgang Höss”.

But where is the image of Udo Kier? Where or where is our Udo? The hotness of Julia aside we sang with glee when we read that Udo Kier has also signed on as part of the cast in the role of “Wolfgang Höss”.

Iron Sky is a film we've been following for well over a year in fact it was about this time last year that we brought you the first look at the film's Cannes '08 sales poster. Well, the production may have been taking baby steps over the past year but at least it's good to know it's still on track and looking better than ever. In fact, in a recent press release, the Iron Sky team let the world know that they have rounded out their casting with Julia Dietze signed on as "Renate Richter" and Götz Otto cast as "Klaus Adler."
Synopsis:
Towards the end of World War II, in 1945, the SS officer Hans Kammler’s staff made a significant breakthrough in anti-gravity research. From a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late ‘45, and they founded the military base Schwarze Sonne (Black...

About a half hour ago a press release hit my email box from Finnish production company, Blind Spot Pictures. On the surface the project they're touting looked to be the next installment of the growing Nazi Horror/Nazi Zombie trend. In reality, it's much more impressive. Iron Sky is a cross-genre project with the tagline "In 1945 the Nazis fled to the moon. In 2018 they are coming back!" Sounds a tad silly (in a good way) and for a second my Starlog sensor went off and I almost posted this there. Once you see the video below, I think you'll understand why I felt that not sharing this on Fango would be a disservice to all that rocks. It's like the first time that Worst Case Scenario teaser hit the web - only better.
What initially hooked me was the "motion poster" that appears on the splash page for their 2009 Cannes...

Iron Sky, the independent and co-operative film project by the makers of the Star Trek spoof Star Wreck has got its first cast member: French-born actress Julia Dietze.
Dietze has worked on several European film and television projects, including Little Paris, 1½ Knights -- In Search of the Ravishing Princess Herzelinde and Vice Squad. In Iron Sky she will play Renate Richter, a Nazi officer who is sent to Earth from the Moon to find out if our planet is ripe for conquest.
"Julia is a perfect opposite to the testosterone-filled Nazis and massive space battles the film’s visual imagery consists mainly of", said Iron Sky director Timo Vuorensola.
Iron Sky is being produced by Energia, a production company set up by the Finnish filmmakers responsible for a series of hugely popular free-to-download Star Trek spoofs. The most recent production, Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning, attracted the interest of Universal.
