With a TV series take on the Friday the 13th film series now in development at The CW, horror fans may be reminded of Friday the 13th: The Series, the late ’80s show that had nothing to do with Jason Voorhees or Camp Crystal Lake, but instead centered on antique store owners seeking to capture and lock away cursed items wreaking havoc outside their shop's doors.
If you're nostalgic for Friday the 13th: The Series, then you'll be pleased to know that all three seasons (72 episodes) of the beloved show were recently added to Amazon Prime Instant Video for fans and Prime members to enjoy.

Bryan Singer has announced that he’s removing himself from all media events surrounding Days Of Future Past. “However, I promise when this situation is over, the facts will show this to be the sick twisted shake down it is. I want to thank fans, friends and family for all their amazing and overwhelming support.”
Friday The 13th is coming to TV in series form. No, this won’t be a remake of the original series starring Robey, it will actually be based on Camp Crystal Lake, Jason, and … different time periods.
Nashville star Aubrey Peeples has been cast as the live-action Jem.

Segueing into his interview with Bertrand Tavernier, Aaron Hillis, also in the Voice, sums up the gist of The Princess of Montpensier: "Adapted from Madame de la Fayette's classic novel, the film concerns a nubile, wealthy heiress (Mélanie Thierry) who loves a rugged hothead from the wrong clan (Gaspard Ulliel), but is forced by her father to marry another prince (Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet), leaving her to dwell on the too-modern desire for free will — defiantly bucking against the rigid traditions of her breed." Back to Pinkerton: "The setting always serves the performers rather than vice versa — though the film is also greatly enhanced by the costuming, the rugged French countryside photographed in outdoor-adventure CinemaScope, and Philippe Sarde's baroque-tribal score, its martial and romantic poles matching a tale of...

Plus gay hip-hop stars talk "defying stereotypes," the orange juice lady is back, Eddie McClintock knows I exist, and why can't daytime soaps sustain the gay?
Happy Birthday to Jane Lynch, who turns 50 today.
Made in Brazil is reporting that Brazil is close to passing a law banning gay couples from adopting. "This new law aims to legally prohibit adoption by homosexual couples by stating that homosexual couples are not able to constitute a family, and that a child adopted by two homosexual parents is subject to embarrassment and harassment growing up." A poll of gay men and lesbians reveals that tennis is the most gay-friendly sport, with 65% saying it's the most welcoming to gay players and fans. I have to say I agree. There have been a few anti-gay bad apples, but overall tennis is a cut above. Now if only we could get a male player to come out.

Seattle – Dalton Trumbo was one of the biggest names in screenwriting who for the longest time wasn’t allowed to show his name on the screen. He won two Oscars, but wasn’t allowed to step onto the stage.
At the peak of his career in 1947, he was brought before the House Un-American Activities Committee to testify about communists in Hollywood films. Like other screenwriters before the Huac, he refused to answer the questions. Their decision to not name names got them blacklisted in the industry and sent to prison. After nearly a year behind bars, Dalton secretly returned to screenwriting. He used fake names and front writers on various project. It wasn’t till 1960 when his name accompanied Exodus and Spartacus that the blacklist was broken.
