A co-founding member of the Writers Guild of America
Wrote the book "Writing the Script" published in 1980, still a used tool for many writers today.
Taught a writing class at UCLA during the 1960s.
Collected wood duck decoys and fine wines.
A former smoker, Wells always had an unopened pack of cigarettes in the house in case World War III broke out.
