Surprisingly not titled A V/H/S Christmas, or as close to that as the lawyers would allow, The Christmas Tapes is an anthology film that reunites actor/producer Greg Sestero with Infrared’s writing/directing team Robert Livings and Randy Nundlall Jr.
The Christmas Tapes consists of four found footage segments and a wraparound in which a family, Bill, his wife Lisa and their kids Eli (Joshua Rose; Closure) and Rachel (Ruby Setnik; Sundays) have their Christmas Eve interpreted by a stranger (Greg Sestero). It's been three long weeks, but we finally returned to Fringe's fifth episode, where we headed 'Over There' for an investigation into the mysterious Amber 'Fringe' Containment Device, which the Division over there uses to close off holes in their universe, at the cost of all life within that containment area. That is, what we, like the rest of the 'Over There' world was led to believe. What is actually the case is that people are in 'Suspended Animation' meaning that they are alive when they are contained in the Amber, but unable to do anything at all about it. Quite a 'Human Rights Disaster' I would imagine, and so Walternate had been working very hard to keep all of this quiet.
Whilst Walternate was talking about how he designed the Amber 31422, I was trying to get my head around exactly what William Bell's role was on that side,...

Olivia is still dealing with a pesky Peter vision following her around, telling her that she doesn't belong on this side, and being incredibly distractingly cute. Walternate wants her to start the procedures and experiments to see if she can cross over to the other side, like her supposed counterpart. Only we know that Walternate's plan hinges on Olivia regaining this ability, so...
