When Slash was putting together the track list for his upcoming blues album, Orgy of the Damned, he had a very distinct voice in mind for his version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Oh Well”: Chris Stapleton.
“His singing cadence and that drawl that he has for this particular song, in my mind’s eye, it sounded perfect,” the Guns N’ Roses guitarist tells Rolling Stone.
But despite Stapleton having opened some shows for Gn’R, Slash didn’t already have a relationship with the country crooner. “I had to...

A New York lawsuit accusing Steven Tyler of sexually assaulting a model in the Seventies was dismissed on Wednesday, according to court documents reviewed by Rolling Stone.

Azealia Banks is one of the most controversial rappers who ever lived. So maybe it’s no surprise she once praised John Lennon’s most offensive song. The tune proved offensive even at the time, and some radio stations didn’t want to play it, irrespective of John’s progressive intentions.
Azealia Banks said this John Lennon song is 1 of the best songs ever
During a 2021 interview with Rolling Stone, Banks was asked if social media had become a bigger deal in the world of music than music itself. “Yeah,” she replied. “But it’s not music. They’re selling ideas, lifestyles, whatever comes out of liberal academia’s a**.

Guns N’ Roses have unveiled an AI-generated music video for their recent single “The General.” The animated clip intersperses a narrative story with footage of the band performing live.
“The General” was officially released in December following its live debut a month earlier. It’s also paired with the band’s previous single, “Perhaps,” on a 7-inch vinyl version. Both songs started out as unreleased demos from Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy sessions, but were newly re-recorded with guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan, who rejoined the band in 2016.
The video shows Axl Rose and the other band members performing the song, as their human forms become animated versions of themselves. Per a press release, “Between the concert footage, [the video] dives into the subconscious of a young boy who stares down the monsters of dark childhood memories, blurring worlds in the process. The Smiths’ Johnny Marr has taken to Twitter to express his disappointment over the usage of his former band’s songs at Donald Trump’s campaign rallies.
It started on Monday night when journalist Ben Jacobs tweeted that The Smiths’ “Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want” was being played as the pre-rally music for a Trump speech in Laconia, New Hampshire. Then, journalist Soo Rin Kim replied with a video clip of the song being played at a rally in Rapid City, South Dakota last year — an odd sight that would be even more juxtaposing if it weren’t for the fact that Trump definitely likes to get what he wants.
Now, replying to Kim’s video, Marr has made it clear that he isn’t having any of it. “Ahh…right…Ok,” he wrote. “I never in a million years would’ve thought this could come to pass.

When Connor MacLeod says “There Can Be Only One” in the original Highlander he had no idea he’d be repeating that line for years. Just when he thinks he has finally made it to be the only one, another immortal seems to pop up, challenging him for that title. How many “ones” can there be? It turns out a lot.
After the problems with making Highlander II and the anemic box office for it, it was decided to completely ignore everything surrounding that film and create a direct sequel to the original film. They dropped any mention of the planet Zeist, ignored that immortals are supposed to be aliens, and reverted the setting to seven years after the first film.
Even under the best of circumstances, films are hard to produce. How does one fare after completely rebooting the franchise? Surprisingly well. The creation of Highlander 3: The Final Dimension is far from perfect,...

American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe has been added to the list of those sued for sexual assault.
The lawsuit was filed by Paula Abdul on Friday and claims that Lythgoe sexually assaulted her.
Lythgoe denied those claims and told media outlets that he was “shocked and saddened by the allegations made against [him].” He then continued to say that he and Abdul “have interacted as dear, and entirely platonic, friends and colleagues.”
“I want to be clear: not only are they false, they are deeply offensive to me and to everything I stand for,” he said. “While Paula’s history of erratic behavior is well known, I can’t pretend to understand to understand exactly why she would file a lawsuit that she must know is untrue. But I can promise that I will fight this appalling smear with everything I have.”

Jermaine Jackson is being sued for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in 1988.
The lawsuit, filed on December 27 by Rita Butler Barrett, charges Jackson with sexual battery, battery, sexual assault and negligence.
In addition to suing Jermaine himself, Barrett is also suing his company, Jermaine L. Jackson Music Productions, and Work Records Inc.
Barrett alleges that Jackson showed up at her house unannounced and then assaulted her. She claims that she met Jackson through her work as a music contractor.
“Defendant Jackson forced himself into Plaintiff’s home, and with force and violence sexually assaulted Plaintiff,” the suit stated. “During the assault, Plaintiff, a woman of faith prayed to God for help. During the assault, Plaintiff feared for her life. After the assault and when Defendant Jackson was satiated, he left the residence.”
Motown founder Berry Gordy is also cited in the lawsuit, as Barrett claims that Gordy protected Jermaine for financial reasons.

A reality series featuring Sean “Diddy” Combs that was in early stages at Hulu has been scrapped, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Another sexual assault lawsuit has been filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs, this time by a woman who alleges she was “sex trafficked and gang raped” by the music mogul when she was 17 years old, in 2003.

Sean “Diddy” Combs has resigned as chairman of hip-hop TV network Revolt, the company said Tuesday, as he faces multiple sexual assault and battery accusations dating back to the early 1990s.

A lawsuit filed on Wednesday accused Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose of using “fame, status and power” to rape a Penthouse Pet in a Manhattan hotel room in 1989.
Model Sheila Kennedy alleged that Rose violently attacked and raped her after the two met in a New York nightclub. According to the lawsuit, Kennedy had been invited to the club by a Guns N’ Roses fan, though she was not one herself.
After meeting Kennedy, Rose allegedly invited her to his hotel room but did not allow the friend to come, as she was “not hot enough.”
Rose supplied Kennedy and his other guests with cocaine, champagne and other substances. The lawsuit states that the two shared a kiss, and Kenedy was “open to sleeping with [Rose] if things progressed and they continued to find each other attractive.”
Kennedy became uncomfortable when Rose began having “aggressive” sex with another female model in front of her.

Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been sued for sexual assault for the second time in a week.
In a lawsuit filed on Wednesday in New York Supreme Court, Joi Dickerson-Neal claimed that the rapper and record mogul drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1991 and later engaged in “revenge porn”.
She claims to have “substantial and lifetime injuries”, reports Deadline.com.
Dickerson-Neal was a Syracuse University student at the time of the alleged assault. She had appeared briefly on one of Combs’ music videos. She says they went on a dinner date in Harlem that led to her being “intentionally drugged” after leaving her drink unattended. The effects left her “in a physical state where she could not independently stand or walk,” the suit claims.

She claims to have “substantial and lifetime injuries”, reports Deadline.com.
Dickerson-Neal was a Syracuse University student at the time of the alleged assault. She had appeared briefly on one of Combs’ music videos. Jamie Foxx, Axl Rose, Cuba Gooding Jr. Sued in Wave of Sexual Assault Lawsuits Ahead of Key Deadline
A series of high-profile figures in Hollywood are being sued ahead of a deadline to file lawsuits under a New York law that suspended time constraints on claims involving allegations of sexual misconduct for one year.
At the top of the list of defendants who are expected to be sued or were named in complaints filed Wednesday and Thursday in New York’s state Supreme Court: Sean “Diddy” Combs, Axl Rose, Cuba Gooding Jr., Jamie Foxx and Jimmy Iovine. On Tuesday, Bill Cosby was also sued in another suit from a woman claiming the actor drugged and sexually assaulted her in the 1980s.
Plaintiffs, who typically would’ve been constrained from suing under the statute of limitations, have been taking advantage of New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which revived the window to bring sexual misconduct claims for one year. It closes at midnight Thursday. This month, suits were filed against Combs,...

Actor Jamie Foxx is currently facing a lawsuit over an alleged sexual assault that took place in 2015 at a New York City rooftop bar. Variety reports that the plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, has accused Foxx of inappropriate conduct at the Catch NYC lounge. According to the lawsuit, the incident unfolded when Foxx and the co-founder of Catch Hospitality Group, Mark Birnbaum, were seated next to Jane Doe and her friend. Following a request for a photo with Foxx, Jane Doe alleges that the actor took her to a more secluded part of the rooftop, complimented her appearance, and then proceeded to touch her without consent.
The lawsuit, filed under the provisions of New York’s Adult Survivors Act (Asa), seeks compensation for the plaintiff’s pain, suffering, and emotional distress. This act, enacted in May 2022, allows for the filing of civil suits related to sexual offenses beyond the standard statute of limitations.

Updated with statement from Rose’s attorney: A new lawsuit accuses Guns ‘N Roses singer Axl Rose of sexual assault and battery over an alleged attack in a Manhattan hotel suite in 1989.
Sheila Kennedy’s suit claims she “suffered severe emotional, physical, financial and psychological distress” when Rose (real name William Bailey) “used his fame, status, and power as a celebrity and performer in the music industry to gain access to manipulate, control, and violently sexually assault” her.
The case was filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which provides a one-year window for sexual assault plaintiffs to file civil claims, regardless of the statute of limitations. That window closes on Thursday.
“Simply put, this incident never happened,” said Rose’s attorney, Alan S. Gutman of Gutman Law. “Notably, these fictional claims were filed the day before the New York State filing deadline expires. Though he doesn’t deny...

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has been sued for an alleged sexual assault that occurred in 1989.
In the lawsuit filed in New York City on Wednesday (November 22nd), former Penthouse model Sheila Kennedy claims that Rose “violently” raped her after the two met at a night club. She says that Rose invited her and former MTV host, Riki Rachtman, to his New York hotel room, where he gave them alcohol and cocaine. Kennedy eventually became “uncomfortable” when the musician began aggressively having sex with another model in front of Kennedy, encouraging her to engage in group sex.
The complaint states that Kennedy and Rachtman then left the hotel room, which made Rose “furious” and prompted him to “loom threateningly.” After finding Kennedy in Rachtman’s hotel room, Rose allegedly pushed Kennedy to the ground and dragged her by her hair...

Guns N’ Roses performed at the Hollywood Bowl on Thursday night (November 2nd) in Los Angeles, and they offered up a special treat for the crowd. The legendary rock band gave the new song “The General” its live debut.
The band launched into “The General” 10 songs into the set, right in between the recent tunes “Perhaps” and “Absurd.” Before performing the track, singer Axl Rose said, “We’re gonna try a new song” and that the experience “could be very interesting.”
“The General” is the B-side to the recent physical release of “Perhaps,” which arrived earlier this year. The song marks the fourth new track Guns N’ Roses have released since the 2016 return of classic members Slash and Duff McKagan. All of the songs were reworked from earlier demos, mostly from the Chinese Democracy sessions.

AC/DC played their first show in seven years on Saturday night (October 7th) at the Power Trip festival in Indio, California. The evening also featured a set by fellow Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Judas Priest.
For this Power Trip gig, AC/DC’s lineup featured classic members Brian Johnson (vocals), Angus Young (lead guitar), and Cliff Williams (bass) alongside Stevie Young (rhythm guitar) and drummer Matt Laug.
Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden set the bar high at Power Trip the night before, but AC/DC were up to the challenge, showing no signs of rust as they ripped into “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It),” marking the first time they’ve ever kicked off a set with the Highway to Hell song.
From there, the 24-song set featured one classic after another, with the very next tune being the iconic “Back in Black,” followed by other favorites like “Thunderstruck,...
