Brad Pitt has officially signed on for Ad Astra, a spacefaring film from the director of The Lost City Of Z. Now we have a release date...
Brad Pitt's new sci-fi movie, Ad Astra, has now begun filming and is definitely, definitely happening. What's more, we have a release date for the film, too.
20th Century Fox - that's backing the movie - has confirmed that it plans to release it on January 11th 2019. The film has also been confirmed to co-star Ruth Negga, Donald Sutherland, Jamie Kennedy and John Finn.
More on it as we hear it.
From April 2017
If all had originally gone to plan, Brad Pitt would be in post-production now on World War Z 2, ahead of its release this summer. But Paramount has delayed the film, and it’s unlikely it’ll be in a position to shoot this year. As such,...

Despite David Fincher’s sustained interest in the blockbuster sequel, development on World War Z 2 has all but ground to a halt over at Paramount, after the studio abruptly removed both it and the troubled Friday the 13th reboot from its current release slate.
But as one door closes – temporarily, mind you – it looks as though another is about to open for Brad Pitt, who is reportedly circling a lead role in James Gray’s sci-fi epic, Ad Astra. Deadline has the scoop, revealing that Pitt’s Plan B production company is in the process of negotiating a deal with New Regency for the ambitious project. Gray, who is coming off the sweeping adventure movie The Lost City of Z, co-wrote the script and will direct, with filming expected to get underway in May of this year.

- We Got This Covered
With the release of his adventure epic The Lost City of Z imminent, we were surprised to learn that director James Gray would be quickly jumping into another epic so soon, this time of the sci-fi variety. Last month we got the news that a May shoot was being planned for his mysterious project Ad Astra and now he may have found his star.
Now that World War Z 2 is delayed (although David Fincher is somehow reportedly still interested in making it), Brad Pitt is lining up his options for his next project and at the top of the pile of Gray’s next film, according to Deadline. Of course, Pitt has history with Gray, having executive produced The Lost City of Z (a film he once circled to lead) as well as, many years ago, was attached to star in The Gray Man. As for this next project...
