New Line International has closed an output deal with newly founded distribution company Districine, headed by Eduardo Rossoff and Richard Ham, for the distribution of New Line films in Mexico. The agreement, announced Thursday by New Line International president Camela Galano, replaces the one held for several years by Video Cine, which handled the release of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Rossoff's work as a Mexican filmmaker -- he directed Ave Maria and produced Keys to Freedom and "Aro Talbukhin, in the Mind of a Killer" -- "gives him a unique creative outlook and understanding of the marketplace," Galano said. Districine takes over immediately and will release all of New Line's 2004 titles in Mexico, including The Notebook, Blade and Son of the Mask.
