- Nick Sagan was born on September 16, 1970 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He is a writer and producer, known for Star Trek: Voyager (1995), Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) and Shrapnel.
- Son of Carl Sagan
- In 1977, his voice was sent into space on the Voyager spacecraft along with other recorded messages, music, photographs and sounds of Earth. His greeting, "Hello from the children of planet Earth," was featured in the movie Starman (1984)
- Dropped out of high school to study film at UCLA; he graduated Summa Cum Laude.
- Attended The Mirman School, a K thru 8 private school for mentally gifted children in Bel-Air, California. A fellow alumnus of Mirman is Crispin Glover (though they are years apart).
- Wrote his first (produced) teleplay at age 22.
