She was awarded the 2003 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Distinguished Featured Performance for "The House of Bernarda Alba" at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
She was a lifelong Democrat.
Upon her death, she was cremated and her ashes given to family.
