Get ready for more Clifford.
Paramount Pictures has announced it is developing a sequel to 2021’s family-friendly adventure “Clifford the Big Red Dog.” The studio has not disclosed whether the newest installment will play only in theaters or simultaneously on digital platforms, like the original.
The first film premiered in theaters earlier in November and has since generated $34 million at the domestic box office while playing concurrently on Paramount Plus. Though the company didn’t provide any tangible metrics, Paramount says “Clifford the Big Red Dog” has become the nascent streaming service’s most-watched original film to date. It should be noted that Paramount Plus rebranded from CBS All Access last March with limited cinematic offerings, so “Clifford” didn’t have much competition to cement its place as the streamer’s most popular new film.

Clifford the Big Red Dog was spotted just outside of Metro Detroit in Allen Park, Michigan taking a break from promoting his new film, Clifford the Big Red Dog. The large red pooch was seen relaxing near the world’s largest tire.
Clifford the Big Red Dog takes a break from promoting his film, next to the world’s largest tire, the Uniroyal tire located on I-94 in Allen Park, Michigan!
When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple.

Did Hollywood learn nothing from the toothsome first version of Sonic the hedgehog?
After Paramount debuted a first look at the new CGI version of the children’s classic “Clifford the Big Red Dog” on Wednesday, fans took to the internet to express their displeasure at the title Labrador retriever’s “scary as hell” appearance.
“This isn’t Clifford, it’s a dog covered in blood,” Twitter user Mevans2703 wrote.
Twitter user @Kathriller suggested that the new film might be a horror movie, posting an image of the character dwarfing much smaller canines: “Clifford is already drenched in the blood of his enemies and he isn’t finished.”
The movie, based on Norman Bridwell’s beloved children’s books and subsequent PBS TV series, follows Clifford and his human pal, Emily Elizabeth (played by Darby Camp), who adopts the little, red puppy from a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) — and...

Blame it on 21 Jump Street. In 2012, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller rebooted a silly, cult television series with a clever wink. It was a hit that spawned a hit sequel. Now we have Baywatch, directed by Seth Gordon, a not-so-clever adaptation of an ultra-silly television series that got popular in the 90s. Dwayne Johnson stars as Mitch Buchannon, the studly leader of Baywatch, the world’s most elite lifeguard crew. Filling out his batch of loyal Baywatch-ers are Stephanie Holden (Ilfenesh Hadera), Cj Parker (Kelly Rohrbach), Summer Quinn (Alexandra Daddario), Ronnie (Jon Bass) and Matt Brody (Zac Efron), a disgraced Olympian forced to fulfill his community service with the team.
There are drugs on the beach and it’s on Mitch and co. to get to the bottom of things. But, also not really. It’s actually a job for the police, as the screenplay (from, take a deep breath,...

Now that we objectified male actors for a change, let’s dive deep into Baywatch, a Seth Gordon film that’s set to be released on May 28 of this year. Judging just from Gordon’s previous work on Horrible Bosses and Identity Thief, it looks funny, and it looks good.
Move over David Hasselhoff! Dwayne Johnson takes over his role as Mitch Buchanan, the super hunky main lifeguard who now has to deal with a new recruit, Matt Brody, and his sporadic ways. Originally played by David Charvet in the television series, this new lifeguard is, surprise, played by Zac Efron. Together, the two must learn to overcome their differences after they find some underground crime ring that could potentially destroy the Bay.

For people of a certain age, there can be little argument that the most recent big screen outings for the Smurfs were disappointing, to say the least. Thrusting the beloved little blue characters into an animation/live action hybrid scenario was, quite simply, ill-advised – even if Hank Azaria was obviously born to play the evil wizard, Gargamel. The fact that the 2011 and 2013 movies are the only Smurfish point of reference for a whole new generation of children is tragic – which makes the news of a fully animated re-boot from Sony Pictures Animation – titled Get Smurfy – most welcome indeed.
The Smurfs hail from a bygone era – first appearing in 1958, as the comic strip creation of Belgian artist Peyo. Peyo was the author of Johan And Peewit at the time, which was a story set in the Middle Ages, and featured a King’s Page and his sidekick. Published in an issue...

NBC is planning a sequel to the classic 1980s TV series "Remington Steele" which launched the career of Pierce Brosnan.
The original hourlong drama ran for five seasons and blended romantic comedy, drama, and detective procedural.
The story followed Laura Holt (Stephanie Zimbalist) , a licensed private detective who opened her own agency but found potential clients refused to hire a woman.
She invents a fictitious male superior named Remington Steele and ends up hiring a former thief and con man to assume that identity, while behind the scenes she remains firmly in charge.
NBC's reboot keeps the title, but shifts things to a half-hour comedy format. The action in this follows Olivia Holt, the daughter of Laura and Remington, who reopens the once famed Remington Steele Detective Agency. She ends up in the same "hilarious, action-packed, romantic entanglements of her parents".

"Remington Steele" is back in business. NBC has landed a reboot of the classic 1980s detective series that will be written by Jay Scherick and David Ronn ("Spin City") and directed by Ruben Fleischer ("Gangster Squad," "Zombieland"), according to Deadline. The show will focus on Olivia Holt, daughter of Steele and Laura Holt (played by Pierce Brosnan and Stephanie Zimbalist in the original series), as she reopens the Remington Steele Detective Agency and subsequently becomes caught up in a series of "hilarious, action-packed, romantic entanglements" just like her parents. Unlike the original series, the update is being conceived as a half-hour...

Lovers of ’80s primetime drama, Steele yourselves.
NBC is eyeing a sequel to its Reagan-era detective series Remington Steele — only the new project is a half-hour comedy, our sister site Deadline reports.
The undertaking, also named Remington Steele, would center on Olivia Holt, daughter of Remington Steele and Laura Holt (played by Pierce Brosnan and Stephanie Zimbalist in the original version).

In the comedy, Ms. Holt would reopen her parents’ detective agency and soon find herself in the same kind of funny, action-filled situations that provided the background for Remington and Laura’s five-season-long romance.

Exclusive: Three decades after Remington Steele launched the career of Pierce Brosnan, the romantic comedy/drama procedural is getting a next-generation reboot, this time as a half-hour comedy. NBC, which aired the original hourlong series for five seasons between 1982-1987, has nabbed the sequel project from 20th Century Fox TV, which owns rights to the show via News Corp’s acquisition of Remington Steele producer Mtm. Titled Remington Steele, the reboot follows Olivia Holt, the daughter of Remington Steele and Laura Holt, as she reopens the once-world-famous Remington Steele Detective Agency — only to fall into the same hilarious, action-packed, romantic entanglements of her parents. Jay Scherick and David Ronn are writing the script and Ruben Fleischer is set to direct the project, which has a script commitment plus penalty. The three are executive producing, with Fleischer’s executive Heather Petrigala as producer. In the original series, Laura Holt (Stephanie Zimbalist), a licensed private detective,...

Los Angeles — Time flies when you're not wondering about the welfare of the Smurfs, those diminutive, animated blue-skinned forest-dwellers. Turns out they've been just fine since their 2011 big-screen outing, but there's trouble brewing in their new adventure-comedy that will require their curious blend of wide-eyed optimism and goofy enthusiasm to peacefully resolve.
A sequel largely unwarranted other than for box office and promotional purposes, the unimaginatively titled "The Smurfs 2" should have little trouble scaling stratospheric heights similar to its predecessor with undiscriminating young audiences and their chaperones, weary from near-unrelenting summertime caregiving.
The occasion of Smurfette's (Katy Perry) birthday presents the opportunity for her to recall her conflicted origins – rather than a "true-blue" Smurf, she was actually created by the hapless, wannabe evil sorcerer Gargamel (Hank Azaria), who now intends to kidnap her from her enchanted-forest home to obtain the formula for the magical Smurf essence that Papa Smurf...

Those little blue Belgian creatures had seemingly dipped off the pop culture radar until Hollywood got their hands on Peyo's creations to spin them into a feature film in 2011's The Smurfs. Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays and Hank Azaria provided the human interest among the CGI Smurf characters (original Papa voice Jonathan Winters and Katy Perry among them) and, despite scathing reviews, The Smurfs tapped into the lucrative family audience and set box office tills ringing to the tune of $500 million.
For this sequel, Harris and Mays return as Patrick and Grace Winslow with son Blue (Jacob Tremblay) and Patrick's stepfather Victor (Brendan Gleeson) in tow. Azaria's scheming Gargamel is also back, this time as...

A trend has been cutting through Hollywood in recent years, a tendency for greedy movie studios to adapt as many properties as they can get their grubby, money hungry little hands on. Whether it’s comic book franchises – easily the most profitable of the lot – or video games, toys, even board games, there’s seemingly no cap on Hollywood’s obsession with adapting every possible (and impossible) property into a ridiculous movie.
While these projects come and go depending on their viability in the cinematic medium, here are 10 projects that have been lingering around for years and aren’t showing any signs of going away. Here are 10 movies so ridiculous that they by all usual logic should not become movies, and with just a few exceptions, they will surely become blights on cinema’s good name…

According to Box Office Mojo, Sony Pictures has pushed back its animated Popeye movie (which sees the iconic sailor man make his triumphant return to the big screen, complete with 3D). Originally set for a September 26th, 2014 release date, the adaptation will now hit theaters in an already crowded 2015. No specific date has been announced yet, but 2015 has plenty of competition in the form of The Avengers 2, Pirates Of The Caribbean 5, Star Wars: Episode VII, Finding Dory, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, and many more big films.
